A Quiet Goodbye
Kolact,
This will be my last time writing to you from the Duelmaster's chair.
The fight was quick-faster than I expected. Ruby came in strong, fast on her feet. I
struck once, and that was enough. No glory in that. Just a clean end to a clean fight.
Afterward, I received the summons. The Isle of the Eye has called me forward, and I
will go.
I didn't come here to conquer. I came to test myself, to honor my father, and to find
my own path in the sand. I never expected to hold the Runesword, much less to defend
it. But Kolact gave me the chance, and I gave it everything I had.
To the warriors still fighting here-fight hard, but fight fair. Respect your
opponents. Respect the blade. That's how we make the sands sacred.
To the War Hawks-thank you for standing with me. You Are family.

Welcome KOLACT. I, Olaf Modeen remember this place well. Many the fights have
I fought here. The celebrations, the disappointments... Woof! WAR HAWKS were a
bunch of dogs after PRAETORIAN GUARD got through with 'em! 2nd ain't so sweet as
1st! Welcome to KOLACT, BRAIN SALAD SURGERY! We need more teams who can get a 5-0-0
their first time out! What's with BREUSE SANS PITE? He actually beat WAR HAWKS'
LUCINCH, and walked away with 17 more points from the fight. Major screwup at NEON
DIAMONDS. CAMPY lost 11 points to JOBY. Some new strategies, perhaps? Maybe CAMPY
will provide more easy wins... KOLACT has a Duelmaster who doesn't sit back and get
lazy. He challenged NEON DIAMONDS' FLYING DUTCHMAN (19-10-1), which should prove
(ahem!) interesting. Try as he might, FLYING DUTCHMAN wasn't good enough at
persuading TREIRUS to step down from the Duelmaster's throne... I suppose you want
to hear some rumors and dirty gossip about your fellow fighters? Tough!
Speaking of cowardly avoiders and unfair challenges... How well I know the
feeling of being in the most avoided team! Don't fall out of practive, PRAETORIAN
GUARD! The bums at ORDO HERETICUS couldn't face the challenges from PRAETORIAN
GUARD! No excuse for that! What do people see in LUCINCH? His 18-26-0? WAR HAWKS
ain't talkin', but he's got 80 points. Maybe PRAETORIAN GUARD's MOLDAVIUS is one of
those guys who likes pain, or something. That's what he'll get next week, after
challenging up 29 to DYNOMYTE. MOLDAVIUS did pretty good last week in beating
DYNOMYTE to get 28 points. Why did DYNOMYTE lose, you ask? Simple: he wasn't good
enough.
Warriors of KOLACT unite. You have only your games to lose! Many a warrior has
met his fate in a hungover stupor. You young rapscallions, take note!
