DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Calypso once more reigns supreme in Amen-Tei. While I am in my native lands, I am the
goddess immortal; in these lands, immortality must be earned. It's a challenge I could
not resist, thus I journeyed to the fabled shores of Alastari. Immortality was given
to me on the Isle of Ogygia because of who my father was, that most esteemed Titan,
Atlas.
Now, here in the storied arena of Amen-Tei, the immortality of the Lady of the Isle of
the Eye stands ready to be claimed. One more cycle as your Duelmistress should attract
her attention. Then, there will be two on the Isle capable of bestowing immortality.
It is a responsibility I have promised to wield with more circumspection than while I
was marooned on my private island in the archipelagos of Greece. Poseidon did, indeed,
send me a man to keep me company, for me to make immortal and be my husband. But,
alas, he pined for the mortal woman he left behind when he sailed off to war.
Eschewing my many charms and gifts, I was forced to allow him to sail away into the
sunset by the Olympians Athena and Hermes. I hope he found the happiness he was
seeking. He shall never be forgotten.
I wonder if there are champions of his ilk among those at the Isle of the Eye? Perhaps
there is one there who will be worthy to be the paramour of a goddess. Not the silly
pretenders, like this Wurp, or Wiggler, or Mystery Meat, or Wackaloon. These are not
names worthy of a hero, let alone names worthy of a goddess. Maybe the ones like
Nalador, or Ramjet, or Inigo Montoya, or this Robert Paulson, who seems to have the
magic to be in multiple places at once. THESE are the names of true champions!

SPY REPORT
Good day, friends and fiends, welcome to your friendly neighborhood spyreport.
I doubt AMEN-TEI will ever be the same. It seems the training can make the
difference, as OLD WOMEN is pushed out of top team by CHAOS KIDS, who came from 4th
with a 5-0-0 this turn. CHAOS KIDS stable has parlayed this turn's 5-0-0 into a 3
space move up the rankings. This brings them up to 1st place. Good work, guys!
TRASH has lost to BLENDER FROG, falling 15 points, while helping make BOP BOP DUWOP a
1-2-0 turn. Defending hers title for another turn, CALYPSO kept FRESH MEAT's
warrior, PETER RABBIT, from claiming the throne. Can someone confirm a rumor for me?
I hear the top team makes their losing fighters do dishes at The Welcome Wench until
they win. Maybe?
Oriental wise man once say, 'Hiding behind shields prevents proper sun tanning.'
Inscrutable, but true. THE SAND TRAP has cause to stand tall, as they were
AMEN-TEI's most avoided team. A smart manager knows this is a team to beat. And
guess who avoided THE SAND TRAP stable the most? Believe it or not, it was OLD
WOMEN. Anyone surprised? Well, sports fans, take notice that SCWING from BOP BOP
DUWOP was AMEN-TEI's most challenged warrior this turn. In a brave attempt,
CHENRESIG from SAFE HAVEN challenged up 23 points to fight SCWING from the BOP BOP
DUWOP stable. CHENRESIG perhaps got his just desserts, seeing as he lost to SCWING
and ended up with 66 recognition points. BYA of SAFE HAVEN had better have a good
reason for challenging down 11 points in a challenge which she won. I thought BYA
showed great skill and promise when she bested SAUTERNES. All right, so I slept
through it! Big deal!
We only live a short time in this world, so why not take a sharp blade, and
shave it close? A farewell moment, if you please, HYE JIN CHOI of THE SAND TRAP has
been sent to the Dark Arena, and was carried out on hers shield. Is it really true
that AMEN-TEI has more dishwashers per capita that fighters? Just thought I'd ask...
Thought for the day, a new sword shines bright, but the notched sword sings the
sweetest. Always good to rest in AMEN-TEI, but never good to wear out my welcome.
