Notes from the arena champ.
Clan Longbeard, I have to admit that Dahnar sure looked like a good striker on paper.
But really, how good was he if he had a master in decise and still couldn't get the
first blow against a poor little lunger. When it comes down to it, some guys like to
take the shot and some want to pass.
Also, thanks for the bloodfeud from Amos. Thanks to that challenge (and the killing of
Dahnar which gave us the tiebreaker for Current Top Team), the NBA Legends were able
to pick up 6 awards last turn. I've heard that is pretty good.
Looking forward to Game 3 unless you've decided you've had enough.

Ah, sweet Turn 478, that special time when Shadowspire's finest come together to beat
the ever-loving stuffing out of one another--all for pride, glory, and the occasional
accidental decapitation. This week's slate didn't disappoint, though some warriors may
be disappointed in themselves. Not my fault they fought like brittle greatswords, but
I'm being redundant!
Hold the flagons, Amos of Clan Longbeard is your new Duelmaster! Or, the old
Duelmaster that is new again. Whatever! He bloodfeuded Steph Curry of NBA Legends, and
unlike most bloodfeuds of late, this one succeeded. The fight went four rounds and
ended with Amos standing tall and Curry wondering if he should've stayed in
basketball. Look, Amos has quietly been slicing his way up the ranks like a dwarf at
an all-you-can-eat pie contest. He now owns the throne, and Steph gets a commemorative
concussion.
Our most challenged brawler this cycle was none other than Mickey Splitz of Big Lake
Solution. It seems folks either think he's an easy win or they enjoy punching that
name. Mick had a bloodfeud against Kapow and won it, so kudos to him--a brutal little
beatdown. Revenge never tasted so foamy. Everyone in The Spire collectively decided
they wanted no part of Big Lake Solution this turn. No idea if it was fear or just a
desire to avoid hearing "AA Rules" shouted unironically. Which team was doing the MOST
avoiding? Ale House Mercs led the way in swerving around BLS like they were last
night's questionable leftovers. Ironic, considering they're named after a bar and bars
usually run toward trouble.
Let's take a moment to recognize our graduating warriors over the past two turns.
1. Tziss (Wicked Martyrs) -- After a decapitation and a glowing record, this
murderer's off to Advanced Duel, where the stakes are higher and the egos fatter.
2. Publius Scipio (Roman Republic) -- Somehow still alive and managing to hobble off
to retirement with his dignity (barely) intact.
3. Dennis Rodman (NBA Legends) -- Lost to Dainty Leaf and peaced out. The Worm
wriggles into retirement or North Korea (is that near North Fork?), no rebounds
necessary.
Thank you all for keeping this arena one of the liveliest (and bloodiest) in the land
of Alastari. Seriously, The Spire remains one of the healthiest arenas out there,
which is weird, considering the body count. If I were a sentimental man, I'd say I'm
proud of this community and its undying spirit. But I'm not. I'm drunk. So I'll just
say this: if you're not here next turn, I'm raiding your stash. Until next time, may
your blades stay sharp and your liver remain functional.
