Many, many years ago I read an article, probably in Dragon Magazine, about the wonders of play by mail gaming. Playing against opponents from potentially any where in the world intrigued me. Lo and behold, in the back of another issue of that famous mag I found an advertisement for a pbm gladiatorial combat game called Duelmasters. My interest piqued immediately. I sent off for a free team sheet and my on and off again relationship with RSI began with The Holy Legion of Kolact. $8 and change was a lot for Freshman/Sophomore in high school who's only income was generated by mowing lawns but I somehow always found the cash to send in with my turns (dangerous I know). Shortly I brought a friend to the game. He liked it as much as I did at first and we both wanted another team but couldn't afford it so like many of us in the early days, we split a team. Enter the Living Dead stable of Lapur. The team only ran for two turns before my friend lost interest in the game in general and I couldn't afford to run it on my own so it has sat dormant at 7-3-2 since the early 80s! (We were incredibly lucky to fight against people with an equal lack of understanding of Duelmasters game mechanics.) With our first side project complete, that being the graduation of the remaining original gladiator from my original team, it is time to commence the second project. I will attempt to graduate all five original members of the Living Dead stable. Believe me, it will be a challenge! Turn 755 should mark the return of Xur, Night Stalker, Boogie Man, Knightmare, and Evil Eye to Lapur!

Welcome back, Darkheart. I, too, played in the late 80s to early 90's and only recently returned to Lapur. Will be great to have you back in city!

If you remember Black Saumari, he's still around and bitchin... Guess I'll have to sharpen up that challenge pencil once you get in and settled!

Welcome back to Lapur DD! I have an older team as well. Not as old as Vlads, but I made it in the late 80's.
