Okay... an UNUSUALLY nice turn this time for Search the Sky. Astri challenged up 29 puts and and 10 FE behind, and won! With a broken weapon, no less. Good tally there. Monoceros survived a woefully uneven challenge match... but it was a close one. Vanek was challenging down a good 25 pts!! There was at least one 'death roll' that Monoceros passed, otherwise it would have been over.
And Nero choked and died... which bothered me, as that wasn't what I was after --- but given Vanek's actions, Nero getting perforated is not something that will bother me overmuch, now. I wasn't trying to kill him, but now I'm glad it's done.
Vanek, everyone knows you challenge down when you can, but this habit is getting pretty pathetic, even for you! You've come down on my team with many cheesy down-challenges, but I figured that it didn't matter too much. Your actions are obvious to everyone, and I'm not exactly running a ballet school. However, soon you're going to have guys on the bottom rungs... you better start praying to whatever primitive gods you serve that I hold on to my integrity and NOT indulge my sense of righteous indignation.
Oh, and to top it off, the two new guys suck rocks. I'm gonna DA them next turn, so save your down-challenges, Vanek. (unless I'm lying...)

3-2-0-1 for the Cult. Otto killed a scrub, somewhat Jalon AB. The replcaement has to be the worst starting numbers I've seen, adding 6 to both will get 9 & 11 respectfully!

1-4 for the Outcasts, but the 4 losses were all crap, so I don't actually count them as losses.
Just because I think you have heart Arcane, I will down-challenge Vanek this turn, even though down-challenging is against everything I stand for.

Den, thanks but don't bother yourself about it.
I was venting; I don't like it but I'll deal with it. Like I said, the wheel turns.
I'll take Vanek on. Not much of a challenge once his higher-ranked guys graduate. Most of his wins come from careful challenges, not skillful fighters.

A 3-2 turn for the Warmasters. While I am thrilled to have gained the throne with Thelonius, the turn itself was overshadowed by the loss of the very talented Nero. He was a 14-4-9-17-21-9-11 SL who was blessed with Great Damage and +3 Ripose, +4 Attack, and +4 Decise. I won’t lie and say his loss doesn’t sting a bit. But, like the old saying goes, you can’t cry over spilled milk.
Now I’d like to focus on Kid Arcane’s comments in an attempt to set the record straight as I feel I am getting more bad press than deserved. First let’s start with some Warmaster facts and move on from there.
Have I been down challenging Search the Sky a lot lately? Yes
Have I made some very lop-sided down challenges to his squad? Yes
Do I normally down challenge most teams in the arena? No
Have I ever down challenged other teams? Occassionally.
Like all managers, we each have our own code of conduct of what we perceive are right and wrong actions. Let me explain mine. While many managers frown upon any challenge of another warrior lower than them in the standings, my view is slightly different. I have no qualms about a 15 FE warrior challenging another 15 FE (or more) warrior lower in the standings then him. I personally don’t see this as wrong. We are gladiators after all, not the local church sewing circle. I do however view a 15 FE warrior down challenging an 8 FE warrior as a no-no, but won’t think twice about that challenge if the 8 FE warrior is ahead of me in the standings.
Now that we have clarified that, let’s look at when the Warmasters WILL begin to initiate down challenges outside of those rules.
1 – When another team down challenges one of my warriors first.
2 – When another manager begins trash talking or making threats against my warriors in the personals.
3 – When I have no other options to up challenge that give me a reasonable chance to win (see above regarding FE challenges).
I am very strict in following my own code of conduct and adhere to these rules pretty rigidly. I’ll be honest Kid Arcane, I don’t remember what touched off our dispute initially. If I had to guess though, I likely “down challenged” one of your warriors with a similar FE and you likely took offense to it. I honestly don’t care enough to invest the time researching it. I also won’t apologize for it. I have continued to target your team however due to your rants/whining/threats in the personal ads. Again, no apologies.
In the end, you felt wronged and decided to retaliate (which I don’t blame you for) and it resulted in the loss of Nero. That sucks for me, but I’ll deal with it. But one thing you should have learned about me long ago, the tagline at the bottom of my posts says all you need to know about the Warmasters…..we don’t get mad, we get even.
As for Den, I don’t have a beef with your squad yet, but if you feel you need to step in and defend your girlfriend’s honor, I say bring it on. I’m always willing to find a new dance partner to focus my vindictive energies on. It used to be Furry Fury. Then it was Search the Sky. I’m totally willing to make it Big Lake Outcasts moving forward. Your actions will decide it for me.
Sorry for the long rant everybody, I just wanted to set the record straight. In hindsight, I should actually thank you Kid Arcane and Den. I haven’t been this energized for a while and am happy to have a little more excitement here in Shadowspire to entertain me.
See you on the sands boys!

Kid Arcane- no, this is something worth bothering about, nobody likes downchallening cowards. If a player has a beef with another they can really show how the score is settled by up challenging them and beating them in a real man's way! Ignore Vanek's post, the longer it is the more you know it's just a liar's way out.
Vanek- Before you go into a panic, you should take lessons from the rest of the managers in this arena that are not downchallenging cowards. so now you want to dance with Den? Dude, this isn't Dancing with the Stars, we don't roll that way here, tootsie. You can try your hand at me too, if need be. Firstly, you'll have to want another 7-8 years before I'm done DAing crap warrior after crap warrior. At least my favorite foe, Degotti, has the heart to up challenge me turn after turn. Heck, he even named a guy after me, I couldn't be prouder. He's the kind of foe a guy can have some respect for.

Crambus - Lol, your harsh words may prevent me from being able to sleep tonight with worry over what you think about me. What a joke, I have never seen a bigger bunch of butt hurt whiners in my life.

Man, I thought I had a clever sense of humor, but see it is wasted here....
In case you have not been reading the PA's I am the poster child of down-challenging. I employ it often, quickly, and without mercy.
So, whenever the Warmasters have finished getting their skirts darned, red rover, red rover, send them on over.
And, I am pretty sure I have down-challenged Arcane countless times.
Shucks, maybe my wit is best served back on stage...

I'm not going to lie, I admit I missed your sarcasm the first time I read your post. I kept scratching my head wondering "why the heck is he defending Kid Arcane?" When I re-read it later, I realized my error.

... and i know Degotti has expressed his opinion of me DCing him on BF's. Vanek, you can't buffalo me any, i know you lay awake at night worrying what my team will do to yours. If you want to go after my 30% team, then have at it. You can't tare apart what has already been torn apart (unless you have a better paper shredder than the other guys).
