So I am a new player to Duel 2 (duelmasters) and am not sure what to do with my new roll ups from rsi (DA most of them I'd guess). I would like to try to work with what I have tho. So here is what I got and what I was tentatively thinking I'd do with them. I like the basher, TP and WoS styles best personally (as of now anyway, having never tried any b4 this, I'm sure is subject to change). Also would appreciate advice on what are good styles not only for these stats but also a noobie. So here goes.
1: 12-6-17-3-15-12-5
2: 5-11-8-14-9-14-9
3: 3-9-12-11-12-10-13
4: 9-12-16-8-8-14-3
5: 10-12-11-9-5-12-11
This is what I was thinking.
1: 13-7-17-9-17-12-9 basher
2: 9-11-8-17-14-14-11 striker?
3: 7-9-12-15-15-11-15 PR
4: 11-15-16-8-13-14-7 TP?
5: 13-13-11-11-9-12-15 WoS
Any advice please?

First of all, welcome to the game!
your first 2 are not bad for first designs. Go with the Basher like he is, and you can raise WT and DF to 11. The second one I'd go 11-11-8-20-9-14-11 Striker, and raise WT to 21 now or later. The third one can certainly be a ripper, but try 7-9-12-17-12-10-17. Number 4 is pretty rough, you might just wanna send him to the dark arena for a replacement. Number 5 would not make a good WoS, they need endurance and low speed.. more likely another Striker or basher at 13-13-11-15-9-12-11.

12-12-17-3-21-12-7 - Total Parry
11-12-8-17-9-16-11 - Striker
8-9-12-17-15-10-13 - Hmm, pick a style I guess.... SL/LU I'd guess. )
15-12-16-13-9-14-5 - Basher
10-12-11-15-9-12-15 - Parry Strike
Should be a fun arena team! Welcome aboard!

2: 5-11-8-14-9-14-9 → 11-11-8-17-9-18-11 Striker
3: 3-9-12-11-12-10-13→ 9-9-12-17-12-12-13 Striker
Strikers are easy. Minute one: 10 offensive effort, 10 activity level and use the decisiveness tactic. With these two you have access to the best weapon, the scimitar. Strikers have a better rate of energy burn than other offensives. You don’t want a normal or lower endurance lunger. Slashers and bashers burn a little better but still not as good as a striker. Aimed blows have a great burn rate also but you want a very high deftness for them. 17 or 21 really. Since you’re just starting out the strikers would be the best choice in my opinion. Dark Arena the others. WoS don’t NEED low speed, but speed isn’t a priority. You want strength, con and will. You want a good or better endurance. 15-12-7-13-21-3-13 would be a nice wall of steel. 15-14-7-13-21-3-11 maybe better. Scour the forums and use this website also http://www.terrablood.com/duel-ii-formerly-known-as-duelmasters/. Another resource with special attention to one of the styles catching your eye, the basher, is this one http://www.duel2.info, run by one of our best and most helpful managers, Assur. You could just go on and on about the details of the game. Welcome to it. It is fun, especially when you have everything to learn. While we're at it here is a post from the forums by another really good manager http://www.reality.com/dm/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=1292&highlight=deftness&sid=0564ccc8de1053409a11d83e57bdd97c

ADVICE
1. Make sure to start in DM93, the arena for noobs. We will give you much advice there. You then transfer your team out after 10 rounds to any arena you want.
2. Read, read, read. Current and past DM93 newsletters. (On this site) Everything on this site. Terrablood.com. There is much help in the collective written word.
3. In DM93, you will get (and if you don't get - ask Lee or Sandy for) a packet of very useful info. Read it well. (Then ask questions in DM93 you want.)
4. Our thoughts on your rollup choices:
a. read the past DM93 newsletters, esp the spotlights on design - then redesign your clan
b. learn the breakpoints for skills in design (also DM93 newsletter)
c. learn the easiest styles for noobs - also in the design newsletter in DM93
(Getting the idea of why to start in DM93?)
d. GREAT idea of yours to ask for help on this site!
e. Your choices for styles for those designs seem right on to us - anyone could chose otherwise, but those are aok to us (However, best styles for noobs to start with - BA, LU, SL, ST, TP)
f. What would our designs look like with those rolls:
14-6-17-11-17-12-7 BA
12-11-8-17-9-16-11 ST
9-9-12-17-14-10-13 SL or 9-9-12-17-12-12-13 ST
15-12-16-11-9-14-7 BA
12-12-11-15-9-14-11 ST
all easy styles for noobs, and , in general, more wit than your designs.
GOOD LUCK - May your stay be fun and fruitful.

Here is my input.
#1 This is an ugly one. The high size, low wit/deftness really limits your choices. I'd probably recommend Lunger over Basher on this one.
12-6-17-7-21-12-9 LU I'd train con once send him out with a spear, and run hot in medium armor. After the first con train, I go for skills.
#2 The designs given by you or others are just fine. If you go with your own design, you're pretty much saying you're going to train will once at some point.
#3 As you see from the rest of the players, there is no consensus on this guy. This is a tough setup to run and everyone will give advice based on their own experience in making guys like this succeed. For me, that turns into: 9-10-12-13-17-10-13 LU
#4 This guy is worthy to be sent to the Dark Arena immediately. The 15 strength basher looks about as good as anything. I'd consider maximizing his decise and going 13-12-16-11-9-16-7, but it's a minor tweak and I doubt I'd run this guy.
#5 Since your original designs expressed a desire to run more style variation, I'll give you a Total Parry design I like on this guy: 15-16-11-11-7-12-11 TP.
You'll definitely learn trying to make them win. In general, most people want wit or will (or both) to be on the high side. My designs give 2 that have neither, but I chose that design on the second because I think he'll win more.
Good luck and I hope to see you in Noblish soon

One last note. A completely different design on #3 could get you started playing with AB's. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this to a new player, but you're going to want to experiment with AB's at some point and this isn't a terrible one to play with.
3-10-12-17-15-10-17 (or 15-17 wit-will) AB
AB's can get away with stuff like this because they don't need much in the way of physicals. You're limited to DA and FI as weapon, but AB's use both of those well.

this is a crappy team to get you started on.. i'm sure someone on here has a better team they would be willing to give to a new player. if i had one i'd give it to you.

So here goes.
1: 12-6-17-3-15-12-5-->12-6-17-9-21-12-7 SL/BA train STR to 13 first turn if you go BA
2: 5-11-8-14-9-14-9-->11-12-8-17-9-16-11 PS/ST
3: 3-9-12-11-12-10-13-->7-10-12-17-12-10-17 AB or 6-9-12-17-17-10-13 SL/ST/LU
4: 9-12-16-8-8-14-3 DA
5: 10-12-11-9-5-12-11 DA

I have been on terrablood's site, definitely a wealth of info there. Thanks everyone for you suggestions, definitely giving me something to think about. Yeah most of these have hopelessly low wit/will and even deft combos. I would kill for a couple of average Jones's instead of a couple of these and all have fairly high speed which I have read is not a priority for most styles....

You know, somebody already mentioned this, but it needs to be emphasized.
Go to "OLD NEWSLETTERS" and click on DM-93, Noblish Island. Start with issue 357 and go from there. Many, many articles culled from hundreds of opinions re: everything from 'an overall philosophy of play' to specific styles, as well as weapon preferences and simple game dynamics (such as the dreaded 'Death Roll', etc.).
All opinions and all good for consideration. Make your own choices, but make informed choices. And have fun!
