F**k, its insane there is another topic in this forum with this title already. I feel for you all at the FtF right now, I cant imagine... and the ladies running things, my heart goes out to you for having to navigate such an unforseen situation. That said:

Damn Bookie. You really went out. We met... hell im old too so I dont remember specifics but it was 40ish years ago. Im not doing math, but somewhere around 1989-1991, long damn time ago. Dont remember a ton from then, but I have Duelmasters memories (long live the name) and you were one of them them. Met at a face or two, and Bookie was always awesome. Definately an aquired taste per se... he was so unique, there were times I could only handle him in moderation.... he was so passionate. I last played DM, briefly, like 8-9 years ago... got a private message from Mike on the website a few months ago, and he asked me to return... he was so excited, so wanted to revived some basic arenas, his "war" was such a focus and made me feel so energized to jump back in and RP and relive something I loved. Through that I reconnected with a few of you I remember from back then, and I have him to thank for that. All that aside, his passion for the game, his over the top personalities.... behind all of that was a really genuinely good human being, who loved his friends. Was there for them. He liked to say he was the The Devil.... im going through some tough issues myself, my 15 yr old step daughter has been battling cancer and will likely die in the next few weeks, and that Devil has cried on the phone with me countless times in the last several weeks and talked me through some tough tough moments. RIP Bookie. You are the Angel the devil was before being cast out.

A sad, sad day.
We will miss his dynamic passion and words.

I can't imagine what a pall that cast over the proceedings, terrible. I had an inkling from some things he'd said that his health wasn't great, but just shocking and sad. He was setting fire to regular D2 arenas again. R.I.P...

I've known Bookie since I was in 2nd grade and I'm 46 now. He was a good guy, had a good heart, and loved DM. The past few months he's been calling and texting me daily about DM, inviting me back, bouncing strategy ideas off me. It's been the most we talked in a few years. His health hasn't been the greatest, but this is a total shock.

He'll never be forgotten. RIP Bookie.

Wow I don't know what to say such sad news. He had sent me a message about the airport and really having to hustle to make it to his gate. It seems like that day of travel really wore him out but from what people have been seeing and his posts he was really glad to be there. Love that picture he posted on Instagram of him and Den. I have nothing but good things to say about Bookie and he had been nothing but nice since my return to the game at the beginning of the year. Past his game persona he struck me a a nice and caring person. He knew I was recovering from covid and the last post he put in Jhans after staying to stay away Razz was "P.S. Get feeling better, for real." I regret that I will never get to meet him at a FTF and I am thinking about his family and friends during this difficult time.
