I saw that Riff Raff had posted about one of his successful warriors runs and thought it was a great idea.

My rookie TC: Phaidor, Striker, 9-12-11-21-10-10-11, Norm End (+2), Great Damage, started 12(+2)/6(-3)/7/0/7/10. Phaidor was in my "maybe" pile from long ago. I was TCing mostly with STR and SL back then in basic so was on the whole 21/15 or 21/17 wt/wl type warriors I think and usually liked my offensive styles to have 8+ in attack or (18 total in att/dec).

Going in my expectations were not high, like 0. I was hoping for a TV or two so I could get my feet under me again. I needed an entire new pipeline so ran a ton of rookies to see what stuck. I had quite a few really good rookies going in and this one was low on my radar.

I ran the hot ST strat vs all but PR/TP/WS.

R1: vs Absolved Royalty (AB). Here we go i thought, a tank AB round 1! He was in APM so I had a SC. He was dodging a lot and I actually got tired in min 1! But my great damage pulled thru and he got a very nice out of the blue SC Crit at end of Min 1 to put him down (hit the same spot 2 times earlier).

R2: vs Consanguinity (SL). He was naked, I was naked, it was a naked fest, I had a DA he had a SC. I hit him 2 times and won.

R3: vs Iron Tusk (WS). Ok so I slowed down for this one. This guy was in ASM/H, SS/ME.... yea the ole SS WS! I think I got this guy desperate 2 or 3 times, but not enough attack, flailing wildly a BUNCH and in min 6 I lost to a SS stab to my chest... I didn't have high hopes for this striker lol

R4: vs Verena (ST). Naked Str vs Naked ST, more nakedness. after a few clashes he jumped me! Swung and I dodged. I Ripped aannnnnd hazarded a poor attack and missed... The pinaccle of TC greatness! Then I kept stabbing with my dagger and eventually put him down. It was ugly folks. Great damage alone has saved this guy so far.

R5: vs Nomew (AB). Naked Fist AB. He dodged a lot but 2 DA hits put him down in min 1.

I was thinking hey! At least there haven't been many TP's right?

R6: vs Snowy Wings 5-0 TP... full on TP, 2 shields etc.. Slowed down strat. Hit him 12 times total with 5 SC crits (fav weapon?) Put him down in min 7.

R7: vs Capt. Hawkspire (SL). A few clashes and I got the jump, I had a SS for the Leather/L Cap. 2 RA hits put him down in 1 min.

R8: vs Jake a 4'11" (TP). Uh oh someone is going to swing back. Took 8 hits to put him down in min 5 (2 sc crits). Didn't swing back. Got my EX in Dec here and realized he is learning in all the right areas. ATT/DEC/INIT

So he is at 7-1 and I am paying attention, hoping for a TV at least!

R9: vs Flamenca (PL). I went out with my trusty SS. 2 hits put him frantic, hit him once more in the face and got winded.. uh oh. He dodged a few then hit me in the throat, start of him 2 hit me in the RL and put me desperate. I swung back 2 times after that but he dodged both. Then he put he down in 3 hits. My thoughts were oh, ok I may not tv with this guy!

R10: vs Moldboard (TP). I hit this guy a LOT. I mean a LOT. Broke my SC. Got into min 5 with my backup sc and got super tired thinking it was almost over and a SC crit out of nowhere when I was gasping for breath put him down.

I TV'd! I was happy, so he was 8-2 at this point.

R11: vs London Fog (AB). I swung 1x hit him with a dagger to the buttock and put him desperate. Then I missed twice and he starting hitting me with his SS. 3 straight hits and knocked me down. I jumped back up and 2 dagger swing later I put him down. Lucky! and got my EXP in Init here.

R12: vs Phosporsence (SL). Small SL in ARM/S and BS, No backup (comes into play). I think he was running response here as we slowly circled each other. I made a huge SC crit to his left shoulder and knocked him down and desperate. He got up and swung. Another sc hit to his RA and he drops his BS. The then proceeds to beat the absolute tar of out me with his bare hands for the rest of minute 1 putting me desperate at the start of min 2. I finally hit his RA again and put him down. With a backup he wins here hands down. Lucky again.

R13: vs Robert Paulson 1545 (TP). An 11-1 TP with BS/ME. Not good. 2 Left Arm SC extra damage crits changed my mind and put him down with 2 strikes alone in Min 2.

R14: vs Sly Sophie (AB). 1 SS scrit to the pelvis put him down immediately.

R15: vs Formula (AB). 13-1 Formula was a APM/H AB. I managed to hit him in the RA 2 times and a few other hits with 1 crit and he went down in min 1. I got my EXP in attack here!

R16: vs Missing Sports (AB) 14-1-1 AB. Looked exactly like his teammate Formula! 1 SC crit to the LA was all it took here and I learned 2 more attack skills.

R17: vs Missing Sports (AB) Same exact scena but to the other arm. 2 sc hits to the RA (1 crit) put him down. I learned my AE in Init

R18: vs Formula (AB). The TC fight. Norm SC Attack, Dodge. 2 SC Crits one to LA and one to LL put him desperate. Normal SC Swing and he dodged... he attacks with a EPEE crit to my head. Took it like a champ no desparation notice. I took back the init with a SC crit to RA and a few more hits and another crit at the start of min 2 and it was over.

An unlikely TC. Just learned in the proper spots, got the matchups I think. Was able to take a few hits along the way and keep going. Got extremely LUCKY! I think he was SC favorite as he threw crits well before and many after than he should have with 7 attack.

His ending skills were: 9FE: 9-12-11-21-10-10-11, Norm/Great, 21(+2)/10(-3)/18/2/0/19

Nicely done Trip. Embarassed/proud to say that your TC here went 3-1 against my warriors, and you got some of my good ones, too. Consanguinity (8-3), Flamenca (7-3), Phosphorsence (8-3-2), and Sophie (11-3) are all mine.

Sounds like Phaidor is both knacky and skilled. Coupled with Great damage ... hard to beat!

Yes, I firmly believe that if Phos had a backup that was a wrap for him!

Iron Tusk is my guy, and I was stuck with the input error short spear for several fights, but I have to say I was shocked when I saw you TC'd with that warrior in the NL, he honestly didn't look like anything that special in round 3 at least! Congrats on that one. And thanks for the write-up!

Absolved Royalty was mine. When you got tired in min 1 I thought I had you ... that SC crit and your grt dmg was just too much. Grats again !!

That makes 2 straight Mail-Ins that a returning manager from a long break has won the Rookies class. That gives hope to us all.

Congrats! Love the blow-by-blow fight descriptions. At now at 9 FE you're almost prepped for Inits.
