I'm not the organizer, but I believe your earlier post should be correct. Master Darque and Hammer should be absolved from their losses this turn. Street Legal and Maximillian should have two losses I believe.
Of the other warriors, Aldebaran entered the tournament legally because he was already eliminated in the 3 and Out. Grace Rodgers won and had two losses, so is eliminated. |

here are your warriors win/loss records, sorry so late.
street legal 3-1
master darque 3-1
maxamillian 3-2
hammer 2-2
the reason maxamillian has two losses is because he didnt lose this time.

Is it just his warriors? If mine lost this time, do they still get a loss?
-Balzar, have to know if I send in a strat sheet for Lyra? manager of Epoch |

any warrior that fought THIS last turn is relieved of that loss as far as the contest goes.

We're going to need a score sheet after each round now. Starting next round, it's going to get very confusing as to which warriors have XX losses. |

So not only are you giving those who ran a punishment but you're giving EVERYONE who lost a free pass (a bonus for non-tourney running). Sounds like a double negative/jeopardy. So much for a good contest with poor moderation.
Oh and Manager? I looked at the posts again and saw NOTHING about no tourney participation so???????????? |

To my man street. You are right but to keep the contest from being a total drop out fest I agreed to take the losses for tourney running the rest really doesnt matter. I just need to go out and win. wish me luck my brother |

Again, it was talked about in the forums/list but not in the actual announcements.
*Everyone* except Fizban seemed to be familiar with this rule. So it's not like it was just made up. Balzar entered an eliminated warrior and Non sent his knowing it was going to be DQ'd. |

I did a search and 157 results came up. I checked the main threads and couldn't find it, but I am not going to search them all. However a quick cursory glance over the Duel2 newsgroup indicated that the topic did come up before. (#41340 in the Duel Archives) It wasn't answered clearly there however either. If there was nothing nowhere, can you explain how the other 11 figured assumed that tourneys weren't allowed? Of those 11 managers, *6* of them went to the FtF. (Argonauts, Chappelle, Battlestations, Me, Airagon's Boys, Epoch) Do you really think that out of those 6, none of us would think "Hey, why don't I send some of my DM 27 warriors, all of whom are only 1 FE short of being maximally timed?" Battlestations' manager only runs like 2 teams for goodness' sakes.
The original announcement (10/22/04) also made note of: "2. No sandbagging whatsoever. (I will keep up with it, every turn.)".
I believe Fizban when he said he didn't know and regardless of where it was talked about, if it wasn't in the official announcement, then I agree it wasn't official. As I stated elsewhere, there is no nice solution here. If Fizban won, there would be a * next to it because he received an extra FE advantage. If anyone else wins, there would be a * next to it as well because one of the teams that was tied for first received a penalty. (Note that I was not one of the teams who threatened to drop out, I was perfectly willing to stick it out and see what happened) I'm actually not happy with any of the solutions, but can't suggest anything better. (At least not one everyone would agree to) |

Assumptions and reality are two different animals. The fact is that no one has yet to produce facts of where "not running in the tourney" was discussed AND agreed upon, thus making it part of the rules. Manager just produced the one and thus far only time it was even remotly mentioned and nothing concrete or conclusive came out of it.
Why do I care when I'm not even participating in the contest? Because even though I don't know Fizban, and I am in fact rooting against him and any other VC in the contest..... well no one has yet to come out and give Fizban his props for graciously being humble about what for all intents and purposes is B.S. and doing it for the good of the contest. And that is something that I think needs to be mentioned and respected and acknowledged. |
