Ok, here's the deal. I played from 84-94. Back in my day, Scum reigned supreme. Top warriors of the time were Epitaph. Teetotaler, and Donatello. I know things have changed now from back then. If I was to come back I am sure I would need to be retrained. Most of the 150+ warriors I have now are basically shit. I was in the time period just before everyone figured out what the "Keys" to success were. Anybody want to help me out with what is really different with the game now?

Have you been to Terrablood or Pagan's websites. It is what I used to get back into the game and figure out how to compete again! Skill charts, warriors favorites (though running say a Striker's favorite rhythms in minute 1 can get you slaughtered), etc.

Pagan's site is at http://home1.gte.net/res0x357/pagan/pagan.htm

Terrablood's is at http://www.bit-net.com/~johnh/dm.htm

Here's a question for all those mid-90's players out there.

When did they stop putting 1's on the RU's? I remember getting what looked like a nice RU but the damned thing had a 1 for it's base Wit, I ended up adding 6 to it but I felt like I only had 12 points to play with since I HAD to put at least 2 in WT. I also had a RU early on that had a 1 for WL to start, but these are the only 2 I ever saw like that (circa '85-'89ish). The last one ('89ish) was on my team ,Silver Hawks(4), that kicked off the Cliffhome arena (DM38) if that helps date it.

Street Legal;

To be honest - I don't remeber any 1's on any RU sheet. I've still got two from somewhere back in the late 1980's and even though they're deplorable, the minimums are still 3.

I'd like to hear of anyone getting something less though.

Playing from 88 through 91, I never saw a rollup with a stat below 3, personally.

Best I saw was a starting Will of 0. That would have been summer of 87, or maybe the spring. The warrior in questiong ended up TVing ADM twice including runner-up), and Eligibles about 3 times. Not my warrior though, but was always fun to see such a low will warrior kick everyone's heinie at pretty much every level of the game.

ZERO??? Was this before they put in the minimum number of 3 into all starting stats? It'd have to be. I didn't think that was even possible though.

He would have had to make the WL 3. That's why the statement "No stat may be above 21 or below 3," (paraphrased) was included I believe.

Must have been very rare I think. I played at the time in question but never got below a 3. As I've been told they winnowed the roll-ups in use at some point, I'd have to guess they removed any with starting numbers below 3 at the same time.

I played from '86 to the mid 90's and I saw the dreaded zero a number of times.

I haven't played again because I don't recognize any of the top managers. Sad to see Merlin gone and it is a real shame the new crop never got the chance to experience the monster egos of Phido the Philosopher and other old masters of the game.

Me, well, I'm just an old Point manager without a home.

I have to say that in the 10+ years that I played which I have mentioned, I never saw a roll-up with less than a 3 in any one attribute. I do remember hearing somthing about it, but never personally noticed it.

Heck – I’ve still got an old – original typed copy of the Red Book. (*Laughing*) How times change. The Lunger and Piker were considered top styles. As we all know – the lunger still retains that perch, but…..
