Man, I had forgotten all about Phido. I'm glad you mentioned that
I've tried to forget the Walking Ego, personally.

Hell, I can remember when RSI used to send out the turns in a plain manilla envelope. I'll never forget the elation I felt when I found my first color envelope. I still have a bunch of the old original turn sheets. You remember the ones in black and white. How about the Old style newsletter where it was printed in portrait instead of landscape. Or even better, fights used to come on computer paper that was printed in dot matrix. Those were the days. Damn I may actually get interested in this game again if I keep this up.

I remember everything that you all mention. I started playing in Aug 1984, Turn 3 of DM#4. The game has change dramatically over the years. I still have my team in DM#4 with nobody on it with more then I think 7 FE. They all had the ID numbers like D-165 etc.. when they used to have letters that represented the arena untill they out grew the alphabet. I have a newsletter in which lions were released for the first time. I have newsletters where people would put advertisements for characatures of your favorite warriors and burial envelopes for your dead.
Some managers that I miss...Gengis Jhan, Boss Rat, Andarus's Dad (can't remember his managerial persona), Consortium, Phido and Silk.
Wasn't Sharkey banned because he was cheating?
Steve, I am very sorry to hear of your recent events. I hope to see you in Philly.

Yeah, Sharkey and one or two others he wouldn't name found a way to make their own roll-ups and got busted/banned for 6 months. That was when they began using the control numbers and such.

I remember most of this: I have, I think, 2 Red Books, The dead envelopes, the old newsletter (before all the newer awards came around), and not only was the thing dot matrix but it came all in one long run off paper (rather then individual sheets). I certainly miss the old days of large arenas with VERY heated rivalries (I'm speaking of DM14 mainly).

Speaking of Silk, does anyone know how he's doing? I kinda lost touch with Ken about 8 years ago.

I remember tearing apart some of those huge tp battles. heh
Some of my favorite Home Guardians started back in those days...
I still have the red books somewhere, too. And there was nothing in the world I loved more than killing one of Sharky's prized warriors early in his career. Back in those days all warriors were male.
