TOGS Announcement

Announcing the Tournament of the Golden Scrod (TOGS)!

You are hereby invited to join the Tournament of the Golden Scrod in the fine city of Aradi (DM #60). The planned start of the contest is immediately following the spring mail-in tournament. Best estimate of that currently is Aradi Turn #388 due on 4/20. It will conclude at the fall mail-in tourney and will run for 13 turns total.

The format will consist of two manager "teams" and includes scoring for winning fights against other TOGS teams, participating in the personal ads, and writing spotlights (gasp!). Actual guidelines for spotlights will be posted with the rules, but hopefully they are humorous and entertaining. Rules will be posted separately in these forums and email.

The TOGS is based around the idea of livening up the arena and is equal parts fun and competition. Designed as a fun way to perk up the arena and get the people in the arena to have some fun and participate, the first TOGS event consisted mostly of Aradi managers. Each year more and more non-Aradi managers have joined us and participated in the weird fun and competition that is the TOGS. We are always looking for new recruits to come and partake of and contribute to our arena.

I have set up an email address for TOGS correspondence and am considering a Yahoo group for TOGS correspondence in addition to these Duel2 boards. My TOGS email address is TOGSman_at_gmail_dot_com or you can always reach me at my regular email address sentinel_at_cruzio_dot_com. Please, I greatly prefer email to the DM.com personal messages. I will respond to both, but the PM will take me longer and I will like you less <grin>. Rumor also has it that there may also shortly be a website that will allow people to access all the old TOGS newsletters and related stuff.

Because I tend to ramble on and on, I will keep this invitation short. If you are interested in being part of one of the most enjoyable arena events in the game and finding out what kind of weirdos call Aradi home, then get a team in Aradi ASAP and come join us.
