Here's an idea:
If you graduate a warrior from basic, and he has at least 20 arena fights, the replacement for your graduate is an 87 pointer.

This would:
-Increase arena participation
-Suck off some the the challenger sandbaggers back into the arena
-Increase the freshmen tourney participation
-Level the playing field some at the rook/app/init tourneys
-Reduce the problems associated with the bigger rollups

This would not:
-Affect the competitiveness at the higher levels
-Require any code changes, rollup database changes

It would be difficult for anyone to severely unbalance the rookies tourney by a flood of 87 pointers. If they could, then they've earned it by their contributions to the arena part of the game.

I have not read through everything and have no awesome data to put forth only opinion. I think this Idea is really kool. A zero cost to RSI and rewards regular arena play. Could easily be handled by a 3 +1 stat potion on graduation for a new RU in that arean only. Still reading. Still catching up.

Sincerely Purple Sage
P.s. I still think alomost all RU's are runable just not tourney worthy. notice I did not say graduateable. A high physical RU can win upto adepts without high skill learns or 3 point per stat increses. Figure 2 points per stat a RU is good for 12 fights in a perfect stat learn.

Final.

That would not work either. the Sandbagers would drop inot the arena to graduate and start with a bonused warrior. Oh well guess we acccept the type of track and the limitations of the car we are given and run the best race we can.

Same old, same old... I just bailed on Arvat, my flagship arena, because despite having three teams there, I can't seen to get anything good back from the Dark Arena. So why bother? Unless you have big bucks to throw at new team sheets (which I don't want since I like my established teams) or at the Dark Arena, it becomes too costly for any player with a small budget...

A cursory look through your data it apears that really big guys are not your luck but some short 3-6 are. Also that you love getting 12 size guys lol.

Just having fun thanks for the data to look at.

I'm not big on the number-crunching and such, but what if you just had a CHANCE of getting a new RU with 87 points? Maybe a 5% chance of getting it. Wouldn't that entice more folks into arena play without causing a severe imbalance?

They're not going to give out 87 point rollups.

What they COULD do is actually make rollups random instead of having a set pool of rollups as opposed to a bunch of pre-set rollups again and again.

Because with random chances you'd have a lot better chance of getting a decent rollup to run than there is now.

I didn't study Wayne's replacements in detail, but simply scanned down the list looking at wits and what are there, like 2 possible 21 witters (15-21 starting wit) in that large number of replacements? He definitely had a lot more 15-21 size guys than that. And his replacements definitely look a hell of a lot better than mine usually do...

Vote for random replacement rollups today!!!

Did an analysis of the replacement rollups (as opposed to team sheets).
It it is a pool, it mimics random generation effectively.

Consortium's last 50 had an mean SZ of 11.1 and a standard deviation of 3.3 .
(If I loaded them into the spreadsheet correctly)

The SZ distribution of replacement rollups is normally distributed with a mean of 12 and a standard deviation of 4.

This run of 50 would qualify as being a little on the "lucky" side, but not grossly abnormal.

Woody!

You have been gone for awhile!

Any chance of the Light Brigade returning to Sunset? Your roster is missed.

Might be out for awhile yet.
Other priorities have displaced DM.

Hopefully will be back early next year.
