Okay for the sake of a large arena with intense competition;
A traveling ‘tournament’
All matches end in death
I don’t know the layout of the Duel 2 world but there would be home sand advantages given. It would depend on if you were fighting in a native area not your arena. You would declare that on your roll up before entering the competition. Free Blade warriors get bonuses in free blade arenas etcetera.
You can run only one warrior. 6 bucks a turn. All rookies.
Last one alive is…the winner.

Prizes Raise form the dead immortal with three points to be added to any stat.
Everyone knows your name.
Not sure what would happen to the champion. Just run him in tourneys with a permanent “fame” bonus. The superstar confidence sort of thing.

Reported every two weeks just like a regular arena. Updated in all arena newsletters.

revise it to you may enter one warrior for every team owned.
Maybe when it gets down to the last ten or so death is only possible not definite. Nobody interested? It would be a lot of fun. Problems could be scum at a rookie level i guess. Could take care of that with a no Total Parry rule.

If you could get RSI to approve it, I'd definitely play. Sounds fun!

like a bi-weekly bloodgame using 1 allocated rookie from an existing team?

The thing is when I played twenty some years ago (I am just now coming back) as we all know it was all really based in the arenas. I am very pleased that Shadowspire is what it is and can't wait to get started (Sunset and one other Arena seem alright also) nonetheless I feel a little boxed in. I played in three arenas and all of them had a lot going on. The traveling would basically be a staggered tourney. If you got a whopping 256 warriors it would take two months. Who wouldn't relish owning that title? Two months all out with the best managers for a great prize? They could charge a 5 or 6 bucks per fighter per turn (more expensive than regular tourney but cheaper than regular full team arena. I think it would be intense and RSI could make so dough. you would have the big crowd for the first month and a half anyhow and the intensity. It would set off that there aren't that many arenas to go into in and really have variety of warriors and even better managers. A bi annual event maybe? C'mon guys! It would be fun.

Every team owned! That would break our bank! Wink
An interesting format!

OK, format...

Rookies minus TP to maintain intensity and strategic efficacy in an inexperienced class of fighters. Call it a hopefuls tournament.

Two week turn around. RSI could maybe treat it as a temporary arena.

Rather than an arena name in the newsletter it would just be something like 'The Trans-Alastari Hopefuls Tournament'. It would provide everything in a regular newsletter minus the class standings; popular styles, best of each style, most popular warrior and perhaps additionally something like printing the most popular fight in the newsletter for everyone to view. No duel master. The most popular warrior could hold that status in a way. Updates in all regular arena newsletters. Everyone will know your name when you win.

The tourney would travel to different parts of the realm. Home sand advantages would apply. That would support some role playing (not that I am a role player). It could add to the cultural perspective of the realm. Why should all these cities lack so much gladiatorial competition? Their citizens deserve more. So forth and so on.

Each fight is to the death. Perhaps some would think that is too much. But you would get two immortals out of it. It would be a good idea to stipulate that the prize that is supposed to be applied to the champ cannot be traded or used on another warrior. That way people would be entering warriors they thought would be worth having for the future and not just as a rookie.

Prizes; Immortal Champion with a permanent fame bonus (nothing tremendous). Raise one warrior from the dead to an immortal. Prize could be all sorts of things I'm sure.
