Latest news has the Summer Face being held in Memphis. Has anyone else heard this and can anyone confirm?

What happened to Hotlanta? I was looking forward to combining a FTF/Braves weekend if it worked out. I know there was a FTF there already, but the Braves were out of town then, and it was a long time ago. |

Atlanta would be GREAT for me. Memphis though is in state, so I guess I could go to the second DIRTIEST city in the state. Actually, I think it might have finally passed Chatanooga as first by now. As long as everyone stays in the hotel, on the highways, and at the airports, we shouldn't have any "problems". If any of this gets passed along to Lee or Sandy, Nashville would honestly be the better venue. The city is MUCH cleaner, much safer, and a helluva lot cooler to visit. But what do I know. I just live here. |

LOL! Yeah, walking a couple blocks from the hotel to find somewhere to buy beer was a bit scary! Especially since neither Yukon or I knew the area. |

Birmingham would actually be an awesome choice, when you consider that "Southwest Airlines" flies there. We'd probably see a few more westcoast managers?
I've been told that in the past RSI has tried to go there, but the responses from the hotels was lacking. |

yeah, funny isn't it, that some places are apparently rolling in dough so they turn down having masses of mostly well educated men with the funds to 'waste' on a hobby who will probably run up a sizeable bar tab to boot
hey how'd the sushi experience go in Philly? |

I wonder if it is too late to try to get Bham in the running? Hmmm |

To be honest, I don't care where the Face is, so long as RSI finally makes an announcement. Is it me, or do the announcements seem to come later and later with each passing tourney? I used to be a big supporter of RSI, but not anymore. With the way they do business, it's a wonder they've managed to stick around for so long.

Oh, I beg to differ. The customer service isn't bad, especially when it comes to Sandy. She's awesome.
But, when it comes to delivering services in a timely manner, RSI is very, very bad. They are pretty much like clockwork when it comes to arena turns, but I think that's a much smaller percentage of their revenue than tournies. When you consider that tournies are RSI's cash cow when it comes to DM, do you really think they should be so arbitrary and random with announcements and such?

Actually, after consideration, I guess I agree with you. I plan on running about 30 warriors in the MI. That is $210.00. And considering how many others will run a similar # of warriors.....well, it is a cash cow. The MI is in 17 days and there still has been no official announcement. I was talking to a friend last night. He said that he may not be able to run as many as he wanted because he was unsure what their FE is/would be. I guess that is an issue. And you are right about Sandy. She is great. |
