How does it effect the way a warrior fights? I'm pretty sure it's not a true messure of trying to kill somebody. I keep getting "eagerly seeking the death blow!" while running a very low kill desire. I'm thinking it has an effect on Decisiveness and how offten a warrior attack(to a much lesser degree then Offenive Effort)

This is some of whats been printed about Kill Desire. Basically you have a couple factors from where I sit. The higher the kill desire the more aggresive the warrior. The Lower the kill desire the more pacifist. Higher Kill desire Kill and die more. Lower kill desire Quit and live maybe more however you always lose the fight you die in. When you win you don't die? So a low kill desire which will make you quit a fight could also be related to death also.

Sincerely Purple Sage

This has been printed many times so I'm not giving up any ghosts here.

KD's:
9-10 Increased kill or be killed
8 INI
7 DEC
6 ATT
5 RIP
4 DEF
3 PAR
1-2 less kill or be killed

Hrmm, only thing I have different is I have found that 5 is Def and 4 for Rip.

This doesn't really have to do with tactics.

Years ago I heard this rumor...

7 KD-Decise bonus
6 KD-Attack bonus
5 KD-Init bonus
4 KD-Defense bonus
3 KD-Parry or Riposte bonus
2 KD-Riposte or Parry bonus

I went inactive about a year after hearing this, so my experimenting was minimal. Some warriors it seemed to help, some it didn't. The place it seemed to be most effective for me was in desperation strategies.

Visionist

Rumors I heard MANY years ago indicated:
--
Decise mod >> KD=7 Higher OE and AL help
Dodge mod >> KD=4 Lower OE and higher AL help
Parry mod >> KD=2 Lower OE and AL help
Riposte mod >> KD=3 OE variable, higher AL helps up to about 8
Response mod >> KD=1 no info on OE or AL
Lunge mod >> KD=6, OE unknown, AL higher helps
Slash mod >> KD=5 mod to high OE, AL lower helps
Bash mod >> KD unknown(assume high), OE unknown, AL lower helps

These are just rumors dug out of distant memory, I don't rely entirely on this info, but I have found some of it to be effective.

Don't believe the rumors.

KD clearly has an impact.
Most of that impact is unknown.
Speculations abound.
Our thousands of fights give us much data, but few specific correlations.
Our thoughts remain mostly gut feels.
We would rather not speculate or advise on that which we cannot correlate or confirm.

(Response to other KD thread).
I'll throw out one bit of speculation.

The likelyhood of a kill attempt may be correlated with the sum of the kill desires of the two warriors.

It's hard to determine the effects of changes in your own KD if it's significantly affected by the unknown (and difficult to infer) factor of your opponent's KD.

If true, it does bring a "poker" element to the game.

Just a suspicion.

Kill desire above 5 will make you warrior more aggressive. I use it to force the issue with rippers, pikers and aimers who otherwise let opportunities go for "better" ones.
