My son , whom you all know as Pauly , is getting married this saturday Sept.24. I thought I would start a little thread here for you all to offer some wisdom or poke a little fun at the boy.
I think he was around 12 when the evil influence of Hombre and I got him started as a manager. Since he has grown up with many of you I thought it only right you got a chance to offer your wishes, good or otherwise.

Pauly,
Things you are going to miss, in no particular order:
1) Waking up without a clue as to how you'll spend your day (don't worry, she will plan it for you).
2) The freedom of choosing how to spend your money (she will tell or help you with that, too).
3) Spending time with your "bros" (you'll be busy getting to know her friends).
4) Your personal stuff (Your stuff will go in the closet, garage, off-site storage, the curb, Goodwill, etc. If you're lucky you'll have a man-cave, though that's not likely for a young fella like yourself).
5) Kiss your golf handicap good-bye (if you aren't a golfer simply substitute golf for any pastime you enjoy).
Really, other than that, marriage suc....er, is Great!
Congratulations and Best Wishes,
Darrell

"Yeah. It's mine".

"Aye, I've come to the right place then."

Mannequin summed it up nicely, but since you and I are close in age, I thought I'd give it a shot too:
Look at marriage like a business relationship and two independent companies are merging into one big super-company!
Sadly, most of your stuff is going to get liquidated in the merger.
Most of your staff will be laid off as their will be a redundancy in those departments and her team will fill them.
Much of your capital is going to get tied up by independent subcontractors (hair stylists, mani-pedi techs, etc).
Business travel will be restricted to include the whole company and previously allowed vacation time will be replaced with mandatory team-building exercises.
It will not be long into the merger that the co-CEO of the company will start pressuring you to increase your equity in the company so that new employees can be added to the firm.
As a word of warning, NEVER talk about how good the old company was before the merger.
All joking aside, CONGRATS! I love being married and I hope you and your new bride find that same joy!

Marriage can't be worse than joining the FONZ.
Congrats, Pauly on picking a winning alliance partner!

It has surely taken a momentous occasion (and some gentle nagging by Ramidni) to convince me poke my nose back in here.
Pauly, I truly hope you had a glorious day and that it is the first of many.
As others have alluded to, much of what you know/thought about life and independence and what you wanted, etc is about to change. Since the emasculation is already complete and has been for some time, I won't include that as a future consequence.
My honest advice to long-term success:
1) Don't fight about money
2) Don't sweat the little shit <<--THIS
Best wishes (and for the love of god, please move someone to Blackhand already...)

Well, the deed is done and the bride&groom are on the way to Jamaica.
I knew the party was a success when we blew through the first four kegs and had to get two more. But the frosting on the cake was Josh/Pauly(who had been slightly over served) doing a truly Belushi worthy rendition of "Shout"
Thanks for the good wishes and the........advice?

Well, the dust has finally settled and I guess it's back to "normal" now. Thanks for the advice, I think, and it was good to see the sentinel make an appearance.
Oh, I tried explaining the game to my wife once, she just started laughing. I guess that's better than running away.
