Can a warrior be cursed for stat increases, or is solely based on your will?
I thought for basic DM2, it was will*5 = % for first raise, then cut in half for 2nd raise, then again in 1/2 for the 3rd etc....

This is my own personal belief but I believe you can be bonused/hosed in training attributes as well as skills. I also believe that att's and skills have independent bonus/hosings. I repeat, this is my opinion I have no proff or backing either way

Back in the old days, managers wouldn't train stats until they had acquired all of the them. And then they would raise stats. But I think people gave up on trying that now.

It depends on what they are doing with that warrior. If it is a tourney warrior, many refrain from raising stats till they have learned all the good skill areas and then train specific stats to maximize tourney potential and not worry about burning the lesser skill areas.

My recent experiences suggest there is more to it than simply the 5%* will program.
I have multiple warriors that have failed first train w/ 17 will for 3 consectutive turns. My calculations suggest the likelihood of that occuring to be in the 1.5% range.
I think there is a curse/bless involved just like skill training.
I also think there may be other factors such as length of fight or FE of opponent.

First of all, I would only train stats when I lose no skills, unless its a throw-a-way one (old term, dixiecup warrior). That being said, The last 40 to 50 warriors I've made only 1 has been blessed in damage rating, 3 have gotten what the % favored, and the rest have been Hosed. So, the last 4 or 5 Ive parked them at 7-11 or 17 ST. This gives them at least 3 attempts to get a decent rating w/o losing skills, because I know they are gonna get hosed. Sorry got side tracked -
The reason I'm asking is I have 2 fighters - same style - same 9 wl - different arenas - and same issue - hosed on damage, and needed 2 cn for better carry, end, and damage taking so 3 stats increases needed.
#1 guy 2 (1st/cn) of the 3 with 4 tries - should of been 5 to 6 - the last one should be 4 to 5 tries.
#2 guy 5 tries and not one bump in st
So.................
I was wondering if anyone knew for sure if stat increase was a sole function of wl*5 = % or if its tied to a luck factor, if so was, is it a basic luck factor or was it each stat, if ea stat, was it based on style.
This is tickling the edge of my brain, I seem to recall something like this or remembering a patterrn or seeing one and its driving me crazy.

Thanks for the input, Holidays must be getting to me, getting a little on edge, so sorry if I seemed rude.
This has distracted me for a day or so. Im gonna call it quits and move on and at least fill out a turn sheet.
This has probably been deemed unplottable and forgotten long ago, so why open a box that cant be closed....might be..... yess.... nooo .....

I have a Primus warrior who started training with a 16 WL. I've trained every attribute at least 6 times, ST and WL I have trained 7 times. Getting to that point I had only missed a train one time. I've now missed the 8th WL train 3 turns running.
Some of his training started in ADM, the vast majority of it was from Primus, where the first 5 trains are at your max percent. I think either I got lucky or there is a "luck factor" involved with training as well. Personally, I would have expected to have more misses than I did going for those 6th and 7th trains.
In basic, I subscribe to the belief that it is indeed 5%*WL, but it caps out at like 99%. There's been a few stories of warriors missing trains with 20 and 21 WL's that I don't believe there is an absolute 100% train rate.

My training seems to be consistent amongst my warriors. I've not seen anything that leads me to believe that there is anything other than just straight luck in stat training.

I also don't believe in warrior-dependent training chances. There's simply no solid evidence of this. You'd need a LOT of data to establish that missing a first train makes you more likely to miss again on the second attempt. I don't think anyone has collected such data.

I know sometimes it can seem like some fighters train better than others. For instance, I've got a PL in ADM who started with a 17WT, and is currently at 21, and I've tried to raise WT to 22 something like 10-15 times unsuccessfully. Another one is the same way with ST. For some reason that 5th one always seems to be a stopping point for me
I've also had a fighter who couldn't seem to train stats to save his life, then all of a sudden he trains #8-9-10-11 in a 5-fight tourney, then #12 in the very next fight in Primus.
So it can be streaky, and I believe it's all in the roll of the dice.
