I thought this thread was about what you think is the best arena, not what you think is the worst arena.

The decision to join an arena has been circulated since the game's origin.
Asking a subjective question is bound to solicite comments, positive and negative, as that is the process of pros and cons that most people use to evaluate a decision.
Some people seek affirmation of thier decisions. Others seek to justify thier choices based on the negative rather than the positive.
I myself stand by my decisions as my own, regardless of the evaluation of others. I offer to explain my choices to others who inquire as to my process, not as an effort to sway the opions of anyone else.

...or at least preface their statements with I only lasted ______ turns in this arena and compiled a _____ W/L%, so we can file your opinion properly.
Says the guy who was in Iraq at the time, and made it clear before he entered that he would miss turns, and was told by EVERYONE who responded that missing turns wouldn't be a problem as long as he fielded an entire team--which he always did, and then endured the constant itching and moaning that occurred because he didn't run every turn.
And sure, I'll fill out your little form: I only "lasted" 6 turns in this arena and compiled a 56.6% W/L%. What's yours? Darque? Terminator? Visionist? Huh? All less than that? Nothing like hearing smack talk about how tough they are from managers who have worse records than you. I didn't include my record or turns played because it's irrelevant to my ability to have an opinion.

It is. Someone made a case for Arena A, and I responded with my case for the Arena B. Don't get your panties in a bunch just because someone disagrees with your opinion.

Always just trying to stir the pot and piss people off. Very sad.

Removed by me. I gave an inappropriate response and feel it doesn't benefit anyone to leave it up.

My record in all my arenas is sub .500 but that does nothing to diminish my enjoyment of the game nor does it lessen the weight of my opinion. SCRUFFY made his points, you made yours, Vanek made other peoples, jk, leave it to the manager making the decision what arena to join to decide whose opinion carries weight and by how much.
Lastly, 21 and 32 are the best choices, not JUST because I am there but many other reasons as well

Our absolutely, bar none, favorite arena arrived in the snail mail today, and we are extremely excited. Aruak City, The Heart And Soul Of Andoria. (Lucky # 11)

I’m sorry my stirring the pot has made you sad. If you shed any tears, make sure you have one for the master, one for the dame, and one for the little boy who lives down the lane.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand how Scruffy's last response applies to Ben's comments?
Anyway, to answer the questions my two favorites:
#1 Sunset, arena 21. A great arena and my home. Active and fierce.
#2 Shadowspire, arena 81. No-tourney and I like it that way.
To each their own, but those are my favorites and I am always happy to welcome more competition to the sands.

WOW! Heated discussion, huh? Over nothing more than "This is where I mail my paper slips... and this is why."
I play to get my mind off of work; it's a good reason to write something every now and then, too. Shadowspire works for me because I hate dealing with sandbaggers. If I had the money to spare I'd go to two or three other arenas and do my best to kill them. But that's just me.
Whichever arena you pick, you'll find a collection of people playing a game they enjoy. Alastari is a big place. I'm sure you'll find a corner that will suit you. If I may offer you one piece of advice, it would be this:
Try to stay in an arena for at least 6 months -- 12 turns or so. You get a better feel for it overall if you can stick around at least that long. And also, please do write personal ads and a spotlight every now and then. Interaction within the arena can sometimes be a bit abrasive, but it's a key component of the experience of Duelmasters. (Yes, I said Duelmasters. It'll always be Duelmasters to me.)
