The next mail-in tourney will be held on April 13, 2013.

More details will be forthcoming over the coming weeks.

Compilation of partially confirmed rumors:

- ADM Freeze is done.
- Minis are available upon request (email CSR, Sandy, and/or Lee). Hopefully paper minis will be going out automatically.
- Prize is likely to be some form of DYO.

Sandy just emailed me saying that the Mini Overviews started mailing out last night.

Do we have a confirmation that the prize is a DYO warrior?

No official confirmation of the prize, yet, but DYO is looking increasingly likely.

The last time DYO was offered, it was one 84 point DYO, rolled up three times (winner got to examine the three full overviews and decide which one to keep).

The last I heard through the rumor mill, the prize is almost certain to be DYO, of the same form offered in April 2007: one 84 point DYO warrior rolled up three times.

Two weeks until the ostensible due date, two and a half weeks until the tourney. Its disappointing that there is no official tourney announcement yet, but after a timely ADM Freeze, Challengers pull, leaked tourney date and prize info, we were due for some bad luck. :)

I mailed off my strategies today. I'm sending 50 warriors. Broken down by class: 17 Rookies, 11 Apprentices, 3 Initiates, 3 Adepts, 3 Champions, 2 Challengers, 2 Freshmen, 2 ADM, 2 Eligibles, 3 Contenders, and 2 Primus. Broken down by style: 9 SL, 8 AB, 7 ST, 6 LU, 4 BA, 4 TP, 3 PL, 3 PR, 3 PS, and 3 WS.

Looking forward to the tourney! Now to find something to distract me for the next month until the results come back...

I spoke too soon. The tourney announcement has begun arriving in the mail today with people's latest turns.

Prize is a DYO with FIVE rolls to choose from.

There will be a stylemaster competition in Primus, once again.

Warriors who start out 0-2 in Rookies through Eligibles will enter B.A.D.D. single elimination consolation brackets, and the winner of each will be crowned the B.A.D.D. TV for the class.

I thought this was humourous. I just recieved my tourney announcement today... on the deadline to have all of your entries in. Laughing

Fortunately, I sent everything in four weeks ago. I'll have nineteen gladiators representing me: Three aimed blows, three bashers, four lungers, one parry-strike, three slashers, one striker, three total parries, and a wall of steel.

I want the prize! Cool

How are turns communicated with Mail-in Tournaments?
Are there links to "almost-real-time" web updates like the Jan F2F?

Sorry for showing my ignorance, but I'm really curious.

A tournament watchers lament ......... May the gods of gaming guide, preserve, smile down upon, and reward true gladiators (meaning slashers, bashers, pikers, rippers, plungers, and wastes) with happy life and full championships, while those demi-gladiators who look like, smell like, or act like an aimer be sent directly to the gates of Hades. They are communicated in one big lump at a time.

Tourney runs this w/e; tourney prints early next week; tourney is mailed - if one paid for Fedexing, one may get it Fri or Sat after the run w/e. If one took normal snail mail, one hopes to receive the complete packet that following Monday.
Actually, all of these event timings are "hopes". (But logical and semi-normal)

THEREFORE - only talk about tournament results and spoilers and items even close to spoilers in the one specific place on this site for it.

DO NOT RUIN IT for those who want to wait to see their results upon receipt of their mail.

The sad part is, that's an improvement!

I sent 27, about normal for me.

This will be the first tourney I've ever entered without sending Frey. I've decided to retire him, since he's now capped in everything except CN and SP, and he shows no signs of ever doing anything significant again. Also, he just got his 100th win, so that's a good stopping point. Yes, I can continue to win with him in Primus, and go 2-3-0 every tourney, but what's the point? He's a WS and will never TV again, or break the top 50. It's been a great run.

Hagar, on the other hand, is moving up fast... keep your eye on this guy!
