Aha .... and we come to the center of the shrubbery maze .... that would better define the argument now. Yeah I guess a long skinny stick (LS) is more fragile than a shorter skinny stick is (SS). As the crit attacks increase, especially in Primus they probably all are, the oppurtunity for weapons breaking on parry increase. Cversely when you make a regular attack with said TP the odds of getting crit parried and weapon breakage increase. This is something I do not notice in Basic. Cannot recall the LS breaking in a TP fight for me .... ever! So your Primus experience has taught me something new Master Jedi! May the force, or many fave change potions, be with you!

I've got a lot of kills and wins with that weapon. Seriously. Morning stars are cool.
Yup, I've used them with great results "in the old days". Mostly by my WoS, Strikers, and Pikers. The Strikers got the most out of the thing; their fights were over in two or three minutes tops so endurance wasn't an issue. Same with the Pikers, generally. Great smashing brute of a thing. A few kills. Ironically, the WoS in my stable, even the very successful ones, had the worst record with it, and it's supposedly a "classic" for the WASTE. Go figure.
Since returning in the past few years, I've read up on what most people think about the MS. I've tried it a few times, but didn't get the results I expected. Finally, I decided to just stick with the basics, the "favorite five". In my personal order of preference they would be:
1) scimitar
2) longsword
3) broadsword
4) shortspear
5) mace
Of course, I use other weapons when I must, but I generally stick with these five. My striker in Shadowspire gets a ton of crits off of the greataxe, but generally it's just too heavy and slow to bother with. I used it as an experiment that went surprisingly well....
Ahem! But yeah, the MS must have seen some programming changes. Too bad. In the hands of a striker with 13+ dexterity it was a steel storm of bludgeoning death!!

I don't think Pikers are suited to the MS?!

Trying to stay away from the thresdjack on the LS, we will add:
1. MS sucks - in DM as in real life
2. LS seems to be a pretty fine TP weapon
to us.

I've used a MStar with a Piker vs Scum. Not well-suited, but it worked. More than once. Good bashing weapon, or it once was. Really.

In the words of Charles Barkley, the MS is just "Turrible!"
I have a decent WS with it as a fave and have never been impressed with it at any level of the game.

Perhaps henceforth we can use the more appropriate names ......
WF = whiffle
MS = waffle

Tis always of value to have some who operate as straglers outside the bell-shaped curve.

Sometimes on this site it could be referred to as the "Ball-shaped" curve I think.

That sounds like a plan.

If memory serves me correctly (and I don't have the gumption to look it up), I think my WS Frey TC'd once or twice using the Morningstar. That was his original favorite, and I used one of the potions he won, to give him the SC.
