I put a really bad fighter in the Dark Arena, and got this as a replacement. Any ideas what to make him?

You can go with 13-7-11-16-5-21-11 Striker, will get good damage or better, and very little endurance. Another, probably better option: 13-7-11-15-9-18-11 ST gets poor endurance and is actually faster.

Both of Buri's designs look good. I don't get how the design with the SP:18 is faster than the one with SP:21.
Then again, I can't figure out why my warriors can't learn any skills.

The reason is that there are DEC skills at 7 WL and 9 WL while taking SP from 18 to 21 only gets you 1 DEC skill, at 20 (there's no DEC skill at 21 SP).
13-7-11-10-5-16-8 -----> 15-7-11-15-9-16-11 BA/ST (12/10/9/2/3/11 BA 9/10/5/1/5/11 ST)
One of the few times I'd make a 9 WL 11 DF warrior a BA over a ST. I have done quite well with STs as low as a 4 ATT skill base but I can get close to the vaunted 10 ATT/10 DEC level if I make it a BA. You have probably a 50% chance at Poor endurance, maybe about 35-40% chance at Very Little, and 10-15% at normal.
I'd rather put the 2 points into ST, rather than SP or DF, since this guy is plenty fast enough (SP) and I still get the ATT skill, as well as a PAR, at 15 ST meaning the only thing I get from 13 DF that I don't get at 15 ST is One DEF skill, which neither style really needs; plus I'd like a better shot at Great damage and it gives me another 18 endurance points as per the ST+CN*WL formula! There's probably almost ZERO chance of normal endurance as well if the points go elsewhere, I may have had 4 or 5 guys, out of probably a hundred, that had normal endurance with around a 180 endurance point rating!

Holy crap! Maybe the stuff you guys talk about is sticking to this old breain of mine. I was wondering why he didn't go with a WL:7. It made sense to me to do that.

And our recommendation. BA preferred.

13-7-11-10-5-16-8 -- 13-7-11-15-11-16-11 Offensive P-Strike. Not the greatest bases, but I doubt if this fighter will tromp off to ADM glory in any case. Also, I've noticed that the mode base skills predicted don't generally correspond with the actual fighter (I'm talking solely about P-Strikes here). You might get Great damage with this one, and your endurance burn will be greater/equal to a Striker's.
I once ran a team of nothing but P-Strikes in order to learn more about the style, but abandoned D-2 after almost a year due to 'real world' issues. Since my return, I haven't made many Pikers, but I'm leaning more toward this style again, and why not? When my challenges go through, I'm generally successful. This style is underrated, at least in the Basic arena.
I'd prefer to experiment with this one and see how it performs in Basic. This P-Strike can scum and it can out-jump a lot of offensive-style fighters. It would also be more challenging and fun than another typical Striker design, especially as it doesn't have at least a 17 wit, which means that the Decise skills just won't be pouring in.
ALSO, as a P-Strike I'm certain you'll get more exciting fights and you'll be better able to deal with the plethora of scum that are crawling all over the arenas lately.
