Received turns on saturday for a change. Clan had an ugly 1-4 with 2 deaths, Toliver in DA and Phynn. Phynn was the cousin of Lord Protector Dunnik. He was a LU and his numbers were 11-4-15-17(+1)-17(+1)-12-11(+1).

One replacement looks promising, the other may or may not get a 1 turn tryout.

My turn came early as well. Sad to see Blue Nova go, but at least she left with another win and a few skills! Smile Overall, a 2-3 for Search the Sky, with two mediocre replacements which I believe I will run for a while. I am willing to believe that most of the other managers are getting similar recruits, so I'm going to indulge my curiosity and see how they do against the other rookies.

Who, may I ask, is the obnoxious manager of "Me Cut You"? (or whatever that team's name is...) A down-challenge and going for the kill from minute one. I knew Starry Void wasn't going to live to graduate (with a 3 con, that was a given) but I don't appreciate that sort of a death! Sad I intend to return the favor first chance I get.

(And this used to be such a nice place, too.)

And one more thing -- what happened to the personal ads. I think it's been something like five or six turns since more than a couple of us have had anything to say, which is odd, considering how large Shadowspire is. Do you guys do all your venting on-line now?

You should know your killer first off. I run Some Kinda Hate and my warrior was the one who killed yours. I wasn't running any sort of "kill strat" Diabolos was just better. Any challenge that the Gladiatorial Commission allows is fair game in my opinion but feel free to do your best.

Bad turn for my Rogues, 0-5. Sigh... time to clean up some junk!

2-3 here. Haven't had a ton of time for personal ads or spots this time out. I will try to get better.

Here we go again, for the millionth time. Down challenge debate.

I am very anti-D/C in recognition points. To pick on those who are lower than you seems to go against gamesmanship; however, now that I see that you do my challenges/avoids will have to be modified.

You all know my stance. Challenge whomever you want.

I will say this though. The challenger was 8-6 and he challenged a guy 8-10. That is NOT a down challenge. I could care less what the recognition points say.

I have had 1-0 guys get lucky on their first fight and fly way up to 20 something points, so anyone he challenges regardless below those 20 points is a down challenge?

There are too many rules. 81 is a freeblades arena, not a Andorian. Do what you will, when you will.

Recognition is so willy-nilly, I don't even look at the points. One week a guy is 54 points the next he is down to 35... He didn't become a worse fighter in that one fight. I just don't see challenging down a few arbitrary recognition points as being meaningful.

Me it is about trying to get to the top. I don't care about win loss record so much, more how to get the throne. The old saying to be the best you must beat the best.

D/Cing is a strat that pisses people off no matter how you frame it. Do it if you like, but note you are the one who opened your team up to it as well. Also, if people think you are an ass for it then so be it.

Let me respond to your recognition points are so willy nilly; ummm no you win they go up, you lose they go down. If you lose in MMA you drop in your rankings for a chance at the title, that is basic and simple.

If your warrior rises too fast that is on you, I am presently experiencing that and working to overcome it. Understand this, he will win and lose to achieve the appropriate recognition for his skill level, simple enough.

I waffle back and forth. Your opinion, Tripwire, is probably more correct on this issue (if that sort of distinction is even possible); however, I believe in a 'sliding scale' of sorts. Two fighters have 15 fights. One is 12-3-1 and the other is 5-10. Assuming the recognition points to be very close (within five points or so) all is good. But the more points between them the more that looks like an opportunistic attack. This must be accepted (due to the rules) but I find it somewhat unacceptable nonetheless. Confused That's me. I'll figure out a way to deal with it, I'm sure. Smile

Yeah, and I apologize to you, Grimm. I wasn't trying to start this whole mess up again. Let's let it go. These things happen. And sooner or later, the wheel turns. That's usually when these sort of players leave... so I'll just have to see how this works out. At the very least, it is motivation for another spotlight! Cool
