Old School Tournament: A tournament using the original match-up program/elimination format. (where only the people

I like Mgr's idea for an old school tournament!

Didn't running this format cause the Zombie Invasion. Understandably knowing it was not expected but still .....

Not saying I'm against it. In fact my lone runner-up was in this format; lost to Tig Toad's fast PL THOMAS.

I'm not sure its been mentioned in this thread, but I'd like to see a "raffle" prize at each tourney.

I'm not sure about the best way to implement this idea. Would it be a TC prize or one of lesser value (maybe even a free roll-up)? Would it be weighted based on total warrior entries or just one "shot" per participant? Would previous tourney winners be excluded or not?

However its done, I think this may be a way for the less experienced or less established (meaning those who have never won a tourney prize) to leave the tourney with something of value and wanting more.

There's nothing wrong with the format--it's a great format. They just need to give warning because otherwise tourney rosters would be totally different. They should bring ti back--intentionally this time.

A year ago, the October tourney was accidentally run the old way... only those tied with the best record continued after round 10, instead of the triple elimination that it was supposed to be. Then they re-ran round 11+ the way it was intended and ended up giving TCs to both winners. They called this the 'zombie invasion".
