In 2 classes the TC had a kill.
In only 1 class did the TC not have 2 losses.
In the Champions 7 styles got awards.
In the Rookies 9 styles got awards.
STers killed 35 of the tourney's 130 dead.
A warrior in the final 3 of one class died to an NPC. If it had won it would have been in the TC fight. |

Amazing! Does this tourney have the record for lethality? I dread receiving my results...

5.31% of tourney entrants died. That is a pretty hefty toll in my opinion, but may be pretty much the norm for some of the regular arenas. Wasn't there a discussion on a previous board (not this one) that stated you have a greater chance of dying in a tourney than in the arena?

No worries, the skeleton with an attitude will be making regular appearances here... brings me back to my days as the Reaper in Transel when I was allied with the Blue Adept in the Pattern vs. Cryptic Hecatomb. Anyone out there run in Transel in those days (early 90's)?

You have HALF the chance of dying in a tourney in theory. Except you fight 5, 10, 15 fights at once in a tourney versus one fight every two weeks in the arena.
Now, I'm going to be terrified if I see my warrior fight a bye in the run-offs.

JUST GREAT! Ya know how you have that feeling of dread when you hear bad news?
In the last tournament I ran that guy in the adepts that died in round 9. I remembered reading the teaser and thinking "boy that sucks for somebody".
Now, I see that an NPC offed somebody before a title fight. I just have that sinking feeling again.
I don't suppose that was a Rookie warrior?????

If, like I did, you ran a pretty good but low con striker in one of the bottom tourneys, and especially a rookie who was on decisiveness vs PS's you are probably in the running on this outcome. There's an NPC, Embezzling Scribe I think, that's a PS running responsiveness with a nasty reputation for catching young, frail strikers on decisiveness and killing them. That's my guess for this outcome. |

Checked the stats on the last tourney to see if this was an extemely high death rater or no. I may go back and look at other tourneys to get a better idea.
2003 FtF
2307 Warriors entered (I counted, so there is a chance for error)
123 Deaths
5.33%
If the other tourneys follow a similar pattern, then it looks like 5% of the field in a tourney will get themselves killed.

Embezzling Scribe is a TP, not PS, which is extra trouble because if someone slowed down too much vs. TP's, Scribe will jump them, hit them, and kill them. |
