I just wanted to throw out some feelers to see if anyone would be interested in another Madness contest. Is it to soon or are there just too many contests out there already?
I had been tampering with the idea of haveing another one with some format changes.

What do you all say?
Too soon?
Too many contests already?
Hell yes, lets do it again!

Feedback on the first Madness would be appreciated for new format changes.

One thing I hate about certain contests is the inclusion of tourney success into the contest. Isn't TVing or TCing enough of a reward in itself? The latest Turf War was basically ruined because of such weight given to tourney success. Contests are supposed to help invigorate Basic arenas, yet including tourney wins has the opposite effect, drawing managers and resources away from arena play. Isn't there enough money spent on tourneys?
Also, including tourney play into contests makes other managers often feel they have to also send in their fighters just to try to keep up.

If this ever gets off the ground, no points would be awarded for tournies. My mind is made up on that.
Methinks there is a lot of contest burnout right now.

Count me in. I'd like the no tourney thing also. I wonder if the "guest" would like to name themselves.

If timed right you can slip between contests hopefully. That's personally why I've planned the Civil War for after the ToGS ends. Just a reminder it'll be in arena 14 and a side note I have heard from Polarius so he may or may not take over the project or we may work together. It was his idea originally for a 'larq 'dorian battle I just expanded it to include a triple axis penchant with the freeblades!

But to respond I could perhaps be lured to reactivate my 28 team!

Well if you do hold it in 28, then I would probably not participate. I like the team I have in there right now, so I would be against the proposed DA format and I want to keep that team active and in that arena.

Didn't mean to muddy this topic for Max. The Civil War will be in 14 the Morya Madness will be in 28. I don't know how the 28 contest will look... that's up to my VC brother Max!

We are very much undecided.
I can tell you there will be no tourney points but warriors would be allowed to participate in them. There will be no 1st turn DA format. All teams can enter regardless of warrior fe. Prize categories will be wide to give everyone a shot at prizes like last time. It will be shorter than the last one, over 2 years was waaaay to long.

Just as a quick note, make sure to contact me before the civil war begins as I will fight once again for the free blades.

Which side would you fight for Manager?

Well Manager as a true freeblader who sits on the fence, if the Freebladers dont want me then I'm sure I can be swayed to fight for either side for the right price Smile

Max I am still burnt out on running contests!

However, your suggestion and mandate for NO TOURNEY Awards is quite acceptable by me!

Have sent a new team to Morya and look forward to writing Spots there!

We will miss Flower Hammerz, (long live Poppy,Violet,Rose) many good battles we had in the old days. However, the Badlanders welcome any new Hammerz stable. A Madness contest has been shelved, too many contests.
