One slight problem with this title.. Mercedes Lackey has that name...she wrote a book with that title. Might be dicey trying to get the use of it.
As a tribute to a Ren Fair band that I have followed for the last 10 years or so that has taken a hiatus recently.. Masters of Mayhem (ahem) |

The first 4 are worth considering.
I don't think we should call it: Straynger/Curtis.

I agree. That name just doesn't ring.

I just have to put my 2 cents in on this one
I really like WEAPONMASTERS (I search and did not see this name used)
It has no mention of blood (for those squeamish players)
No regional implications
Most of all it has the same ring to it as DuelMasters (just old fashion) |

I like it!
Now we just need to add more weapons and balance them! |

Good to see your post! To me, though, Weaponmasters doesn't "ring" at all.
I do like "Blood of Champions." B.O.C. for short...B.O.C. RULES!!! Sorry, had a Dazed and Confused flashback there...
I think "Bloodthrone" is the current favorite of mine...
Sorry, Adie and other Andorians who may object, but I think it's a bit ridiculous to be scared of using the word "blood" in a game of gladiatorial combat where, even if you don't kill your opponent, 9 out of 10 times you're STILL spilling some of their paper "blood!" Unless you're running all scum all the time, of course! |

I think 'Masters' is an important part of the name.
Arena Masters
Weapon Masters
Both of those seem like good choices to me. |

My suggestion (and still my favorite <grin>) is to use "Bloodgames". I think it describes the game very well for new players, has that cool feel to it, and is a familiar, comfortably name for most Duelmasters players.
The only downside I can see is that we'd have to call the thing currently known as Bloodgames something else. A small sacrifice in my mind to be able to migrate that to be the name of the game.
So anyway, back to your regularly schedule programming. |

I do like that, too! Either Blood games, Blood feud, Blood throne, they all work for me, and sound suitably intriguing! |
