Thanks, and good. I was pretty much decided on doing it but for some reason the two skills extra were praying on my mind. Haven´t got one yet I could give a 21 wit even without the will this time through but it´s only 11 chances so far. Only one overview below size 9 cuts the other stats.

You must be getting something Ultraist, I was reading up to decide between 12 and 21 for the new teams arena and caught your 9-1-0 TP duelmaster who´s already going to the isle. (You´ve got a PR who´s killing them too, right?) Be glad to have those two gone if I choose 21.

yeah the 9-1 TP is mine (got tired of sandbagging and decided to try his luck in the freshmen tournament). And yes the PR is pretty nasty, well as nasty as a 9 wl warrior can be (without any 21´s). Come to Sunset, you´ll enjoy our bloody little arena.

Ouch, I´ve got to do more homework. Finally chose 21 by default, (they haven´t posted a Riztab newsletter since 8/3 and I decided I´d wait to try it ´til next time I start newbies) and now I notice that you´re the top two teams not just the top one in Sunset. From all available evidence, fighting in an arena with "just" five of your guys would have been enough to take on.

Has Sword Opera been fighting all this time? I swear they were there when I was in the mid and late ´80s...

Does everyone pile on Darth Whosis? You´re supposed to wait til you get good to display arrogance...

Sword Opera used to be named Team Gore and it is an employee team.

Darth Josh is okay, he just got off on the wrong foot with everyone. Anyone who hates the Midnight Foundation can´t ba all that bad...

Heh

Whoops, eh? They haven´t posted a Riztab newsletter, but they did run it. The new turn should post tonight/tomorrow morning.

That´s a shame, I was hoping to see you in the arena.

You will, just be a little longer now. Funny how the best memories call you back. Riztab was my first arena, first 21 wit, etc and I´m up for running there again. Sunset had my best performing warrior (no clue why he was so successful, 15 wit lunger who learned as well as the 21 wit in 12. AE +3 in attack and duelmaster by his tenth or twelfth fight).

Employee team! How do they ever lose? Can´t they read the program? Josh is OK eh? Just being taught the ropes it seems.

This bunch will give me a good primer for fighting in twelve, came with cons of 5,7,7,9, and 10 and as per my lessons here they stayed that way.

What teams did you run in Sunset way back when? Originally I was there with Blackened Pride (T1- T?) and then Magnificent 5 (later became Blackest Pride) (from T#38- present)

I´ll take a stab, but it´s been a long time and I was in several at the time. (12 was the sacred banders, 32 the hellhounds, 14 I think was chaos and carnage, 13,17,18,19 are a blank) 21 if my memory is right was the Stepsons. If I´m remembering correctly the guy who got several of us playing had a team called "The -Something I Forgot- Orcs" (badnews?) and went by Ghengis John there.

I believe you are thinking of "The Firehand Orcs". I can´t remember who ran the team (Boss Rat?) but the Orc themed teams were all over the place back then.

Hmm...Genghis Jhan is an old, old time manager. I don´t know if he ran the orc teams, but I know he had teams in a LOT of arenas. It does sound right, though.

Didn´t Boss Rat more or less stick to "Rat Pack" teams?

Yeah, might have been Jhan for his manager name, rang the bell when I read it. (When he finally had his first kid he threatened to name her Ghengis Jane) Firehand is probably right too but the memory is less clear. John was from Arizona and I think went to college in Tempe(?). Anyhow, ended up on a submarine and got several of us going on the game. Used to call "The Goddess Typo" and chat about his posts. Wife ran one team, I think in 21, I forget the team name but the warriors all had Russian names. So, at first I went into arenas he was in and recommended, later I think I had more teams running than he did.

It was before all the wonderful charts/tools so it made a huge difference to have someone to ask "What´s it take to use a halberd?" Found out what country you needed to win Hyperborean War, etc too.

Gengis Jhan ran Ironhand Orcs in 19. He also ran Genetic Mishaps in 14 and many others. He was one of the best RP´ing managers in the game, not to mention one of the greats at the time.

Ironhand Orcs! That´s it. Thanks DeGotti. Yeah, John was a riot in and out of the game and seemed to know everything going on in those days with no skill charts and spread sheets.

Old story warning, when my first guy made duelmaster in 21 we coordinated our posts to tell the story of his orcs team catapulting cows at my guildhouse. (fetchet la vache) Very funny guy.

So, 2-1-0 with the three you´re going to fight. Plenty good enough with no challenges or avoids. At the very beginning I think style match-ups (and stats) matter as much as the quality of your warrior, so I never try to guess who´ll win if challenges don´t go through. Probably the basher hit just the wrong guy.

The TP I´m going to DA at some point (whenever cheap wins cease) was random matched two weeks running with Gecko God. The first fight he (gecko) learned an init and an attack and went expert in both. Don´t know what he got this time yet. Anyway, the key is that I beat him both times. In a handful of fights his skills will take over and my three parry, seven riposte TP will never get close to beating him again. Now, he´s tiny and I have a 21 con and APM and am two-for-two against him.

Yeah, I know, I´ll have to start over with a replacement at some point but at least the team record looks pretty (9-5-1 for first place). My replacement for the killed warrior put the UG in ugly so I´m trying to counter the affect of another DA as well.
