Pardon the ignorence of someone who has been away so long I´m virtually a newbie again but how did it come to be that there are so many virtually empty arenas? And what´s the concensus on dropping a bunch more until the old system of twenty team arenas with all styles present at all stages of development reoccurs? I loved the game and am excited to start up again but I can see most of these arenas will be nothing like what I learned. How much strategy has been lost on challenges and such with just 4-10 warriors at each level? |

To many arenas and not enough players... What arenas are you starting back up in? |

Doing one at a time while I decide how much time I´ll decide to give it (got up to seven more than ten years ago).
First team about to start in 46. Thinking about maybe starting one in 12 where my first team started way back when, or 14 where amazingly I recognize two of the team names from that time.
They must have had people in them once or they wouldn´t have kept opening arenas, now I bet it´s hard to keep newbies if they don´t know to ask for a busier arena. |

I to have returned to DM. after a long break. A 10 year break. I remember fighting "Doc Legrand" and the "Ninja Turtles" back in the day when there wre at least 20-30 teams in each arena. I think all the arenas should be consolicated so there are more than 8-10 teeams (Solven 22) per arena. with so few teams per arena, skill learns suffer. All rookie managers should be given a chance to go to a soecial newbie arena where novice managers can learn while certain "experinced" managers give aid and tips to newbies so they will want to keep playing what we all know is the best PBM out there. |

Wow, lots of us retired old-timers coming back lately! I wonder if it´s something in the water.... |

Thanks and welcome back to you as well Deathjester!
I noticed quite a few people are returners too, one of the teams I recognized in 14 said he was recently back after years away.
It just goes to show how much fun for how long this game really is. You don´t forget. Perhaps like me, some of these people moved and lost the address. It never seemed worth the effort to find through long distance hunting etc. but when I found the web site on my yearly search engine check I couldn´t resist starting up again.
Back to the original concern, I remember that ADM had issues with warriors you couldn´t really hope to catch more than ten years ago and from what I´ve read those concerns have only grown. Add to that the reduction of strategy and other limitations of small arenas and I bet the game loses many who try it needlessly. I know there would be issues with lost free fights etc. if more arenas close but there must be a reasonable way to improve this situation.
Thanks for all the feedback, information and opinions by the way. |

Not that Duelmaster Players are competitive.

Yes, there are less playing now than the old days. But when you come back, there will be one less! WELCOME HOME
WE will see you in DM46 as The Fandils.
There are many threads on here about arena onsolidation. It has been done once. It was a resounding failure. Let's try something else. |
