I would like to open this up only to People who are not playing but want to.
What will bring you back to Duel?
I would appreciate it if we current players don't chime in on the people who respond. If we want to respond to them lets open a new topic somewhere discussing whatever they might bring to the table.
I think it would be most informative to have an unbiased look at what people who are not playing would like to have happen to bring them back. it could be they just need to hit the lottery? Whatever. I will occasionally refresh this thread but I will not be reponding to anyone within it since its for those that are on the outside looking in.
Sincerely Purple Sage |

Number 1 reason i stopped playing and haven't gotten the urge to return, all the book keeping. I was 2 tourneys behind in terms of tracking learns etc., and the slog though all those sheets of paper isn't very appealing. I think I may even have a positive account balance...
It's funny that the cost hasn't changed since the 80s but in today's MMO era the 10.75 every other week for 20 minutes of game play seems steep...
I did just have a moment of weakness though... i was looking through dusty notebooks looking for a team rollup to drop in 81... |

Lookin at the forums kind of keeps my itch. I thought I was done, but I have been considering a return before the face and coming to a face, minus the food poisoning. |

It certainly is tempting Stik, if I did, I would be going back home to 8,28.
Street, I saw a post from you earlier, its gone now. The VC days were fun to a point, I kinda miss my old friends. Damn has it really been like 23 years since I first started this game. Not even sure how long I've been gone for now, lol
M.D. playing certainly improves the odds. |

He hasn't been active in years, but Slobulous from DM 31 was a hoot. I'm pretty sure he was from BC too. |

Maybe somebody flipped that lightswitch again and all Canada lost power.
Yeah I saw the request we not respond and deleted it but since I'm not the first ignorer of it. Mentioned have been thinking of all the former VC as of this time of year after what we went through, and understand I let misunderstandings make me fly off too far. And wish ALL my former VC well. |

Is there a reliable census on how many active managers there are these days. |

From looking at the ADM newsletters, there are anywhere from 40 managers to 90 managers who play at that level (40 if everyone who plays in a regional or slow arena also plays in DM-100, and 90 if everyone only plays in one of either DM-100/regional/slow arenas). I would guess that 75 is a pretty reasonable figure for ADM level managers.
From that I'd estimate that there are over a 100 active managers across all levels of play.
But this is just guesswork. |

Okay, I think I have decided to return on a small scale, lets hope I didn't chuck everything away. God I hope not, some of my teams had some damn fun and nice warriors on them, losing all the tracking and such would bite bigtime. Now I just have to argue with myself which teams to run. The nicest ones or the ones with sentimental value. Harder than you might think to choose, for me anyway.
You all ready for some easy wins? We did miss fighting against Lepentarque and Curator, always fun. |

Welcome back!
Personally I am readdy for some easy wins. As for sentiment vs. quality, I have almost always gone with sentiment. It doesn't always lead to the best winning record, but it keeps me interested. The best is when the two combine.
Welcome back. |
