It's going to ba a race to see who will be Current Top Team this time:
Nomadic Tribe are 6-3 going in
Light Brigade and Literate Loons are 6-4 going in
Sea dogs are 5-2 going in
Sword Opera and Ben's Bazaar are at 4-6 going in
It is going to be a close one, my money is on Nomad by 1 less loss than Sherman and Woody.

I believe we will have a new DM (sorry Sherman)

I believe that King Tootnpootn will win the BF fight with the Loon's

I believe that we have 2 or 3 new graduate notices

I believe that Ben's Bazaar will go 3-2-1 or better

I believe we will have at least 1 if not 2 new teams this turn

I believe that Kano Clan does not fight all his guys, but if he did I challenged Mutaba Iro)

I believe that Doc Legrand's Avians will still be on the Newsletter Laughing

I believe that Equites Virtus will have a better turn than their last one

I believe that Ben's Bazaar wins it's BFd against Fatom Jumper (I can't remember who I sent, I think it was Mime Control)

I believe will have 3 deaths in the regular arena

Well I think that about covers all I have to say for now. Let's hear what you have to say before the turns post...

Getting ahead of the game this time, I guess?

Uhm, lets see . . .

3-2 for the Tribe. Hopefully enough for the current top team.

We finally go after a bloodefeud on the Loons. We win. I waited to try and give Bul a shot. Not a great matchup, but winnable. (If we don't they might not like what turn #4 looks like.)

A couple of new teams seems likely - and really cool.

I'm hoping Kano Clan fights - they have missed two turns. As much fun as I have harrassing them - and as much as they deserve it - I'd hate to see anyone leave.

No graduates from this team. Guaranteed.

If Ben beats Fathom Jumper I'll congratulate him on a quality victory. (Nothing grand, just a "Niiiiiiccccceeee." written here.)

I think Slythr takes the title - the biggest problem being that our Duelmaster could issue a challenge of his own - and it likely wouldn't be on this guy.

So say I, for whatever it is worth.

Spoiler warning!!!!

...spoiler space

...just in case

Lead Instructor got the DM.
I haven't inspected the CC's closely, but it seems that he has reached critical mass and is unlikely to lose again prior to graduation.

Er...I went 1-0 and discovered a soft point in Terrablood's endurance data, dammit.

ER... Cool, your here. Glad you could join us but you took one of my awards I have been enjoying, I shall have to see about getting that back, but I don't know if I have the time before we are chartered unless you decide to fight a full stable.

This is the rest of that team:

21-5-16-11-15-9-7 BA
21-9-12-11-9-13-9 BA
11-8-17-15-9-14-10 ST
10-14-11-17-9-10-13 ST (hosed on damage, low roll on endurance)

So not likely the other four will ever see the light of day. On the bright side for you, Baker will only run long enough to determine whether or not she has a defense bonus (which may take some time, since it's not her favorite learn). Once I've made that determination, the team will either be moved to 84 or retired & replaced.

Needless to say, the existence of Germ Warfare was the other reason I was looking at Lapur over Sunset for the time being.

Hey hey, it's my birthday (39 and holding!) and what do I get? A 5-0 with a bow! Niiiice. Golf claps all around....The throne and an invite for Slythr would've been the capper, but can you have your cake and eat it, too??

Woody, you don't think LI's gonna lose again? You're not lacking in confidence, anyway. I don't see a tourney entry for him...but then I don't see one for my guy, either.

Lots of others, though. Congrats to Doc Steele the ever-silent/never-present for his TV with Khorag in challengers, that's one mean-ass basher as I recall. Or is he a lunger? Doubt he'll ever show up to fight again, though.
OAB, a cumulative 19-9 for your three rookies, yikes for the rest of us!! Nomad picks up some FE and continues skill-farming with his guys, the rest of us not that great. There's always next tourney!

Lagerkvist loses the throne but gains his immortality at last, congrats to Sherman!

Toker, nice try with Quintes but Molotov is better than his record indicates. Or, maybe not. I guess you are what your record says you are, for the most part. In any case, I took that one. Watch out with him, I'm looking to graduate somebody with at least 4 kills, one of my new goals.... Twisted Evil ....don't think I've done more than 2 previously. I'm just sad Kano dropped out, that's some quality targets gone. They'll be back, no doubt, he does that.

Ichabod, nice to see you in the arena! Just DA those other jokers and get duelin'!! Very Happy

Toker gets two of his youngin's in the challenger adepts alluvasudden, look out...congrats on cracking triple digit wins as well! You're now a "made" manager of Sunset!

One more thing Ichabod, it will cost you almost as much just in the turn fee in 2 turns alone to make up the difference of DAing all 4 guys in one turn and getting some replacements. If Ameoba is that good it won't hurt to fight her here with 4 other guys. Just my pitch to get you to stay here.

I agree with Gentleben.

Since you are already running one guy, it will cost you $1.50 x 4 = $6 to see 4 new roll-ups. When you compare that to a team rollup: $5 for 5 warriors, it doesn't look that good at first, but if you manage to find another tournament warrior or two, the savings will add up. If you get to run two tournament warriors on the same turn, you are saving $3.25 over the costs of running two on separate teams. And that's each turn they run together.

More and more, I think that prepping tournament warriors on full teams is the way to go and it has the added advantage of getting new and interesting roll-ups from the replacement pool, rather than the same old stuff from team roll-ups.

The trap I fall into is that I get a warrior who is almost tournament quality who has potential in Freshman (for instance) and I decide to run him. Pretty soon I have a team full of marginal warriors who may or may not have a future someday.

If Baker turns out to have a defense bonus, I'll think about it. If she doesn't, there will be no more point in spending money on her.

In the mean time it wouldn't hurt to DA the others and see if you get some mystic magical RU from the golden archives buried deep within the earth guarded by vile beasts to ghastly to behold. Well, it could happen.

It could. The Sunset DA replacements seem to have pretty good luck usually. They have for me historically anyway.

As I said, once I know her defense bonus. It shouldn't take too long. I just wish her style learned defense at a slightly higher priority.

On second thought, no I don't. The style doesn't need to get any better.
