After 20 some odd years of calling it Duelmasters, now it is Duel II? C'mon....RSI hopefully got paid enough for this to make it so we can email in our turns finally.
I feel like I've just been kicked in the stomach.

Wizards of the coast is a huge company, I'll guess RSI got more for changing their games name than jiles did for duelmasters.com(I hear they kicked him down some magic cards).Seriously tho, I hope they both took WoC for a buncha dough.
Duel II is a lame ass name tho. Hopefully it will be a temporary name until a more suitable one is found. |

wtf? Wtf? WTf? WTF? WTF!
Duel II.... ughh!!!!
Jiles! Get a poll up on this! Let this be the start of a player ran renaming campaign!
I vote for "Flagg's Game of Gladiatorial Combat".... hmmmm, maybe one of the thousand of better managers might take offense to that... How about we just call it :
Primus: Masters of Dueling (Combining someone else's suggestion with my idea) |

I'm calling it Duelmasters forever...it's a badge of pride in the neighborhood. The kids come up and show me their "Duelmaster" cards - and I show them my duelmasters that I was reading before they were ever thought of....
Destitute Noble (looking forward to the upcoming Duelmasters face to face tournament in Memphis!!) |

Before it was Duelmasters it was a game called Gladiators. I sent away for a free ru to the game Gladiators. They sent me a ru and a letter back explaining that the Gladiators game had changed it's name to Duelmasters. This was back in like spring/summer of 1984 and it was advertised in Dragon Magazine.
Just a bit of history for you all.
And Duel II is totally a lame ass name.

Let us pray....
Oh dear Lord.
Please give the wonderful folks at RSI the clarity and insight to give us a name worthy of this wonderful game that has entertained us for so long.
We ask you to not let this game fall by the wayside due to this ignorant sounding name that has been placed on this site.
We all ask something be done correctly, swiftly and justly to solve this unspeakable injustice that has been done to all DM players across this great land.
In your name we pray.
Amen.
Hey, it couldn't hurt!!! |

Duel2?!? Is the top warrior still called the duelmaster or is it the duel2master now?
The signal is given for the duel2 to begin.
Both fighters are engaged in a fast-paced duel2!
I really hope they got paid off by the WotC Nazis instead of bending to legal pressure. With all the naming talent and creativity available in this forum, they should have put it up for discussion as to what to call the game.
I formally kick off the discussion with 12 names better than Duel2:
Duelmistresses
Duelhamsters
DM
Duelling Masters
Bloodmasters
Arenamasters
Blademasters
Swordmasters
Sands of Alastari
Poke-a-man (ok WotC might have problems with that too)
(*) The game formerly known as Duelmasters
Frothingmasters
Can we change the name back after "Duel masters" goes bust next year? |

I'll be selling my rare "first edition duelmasters" sheets on ebay. Finally something to do with all those crappy rollups. |

Seriously, new name please. I can see that in a moment of panic they might have pulled Duel2 out of a bag when the 'cease and desist' order was being shoved in their face, but c'mon. that's as bad as bad can bad.
I liked Bloodmasters, but then we start getting into issues with 'what the game means to different players' and - snort - different regions. Maybe Bloodmasters is too violent for some, maybe TCmasters would be more in line with the goals of certain players. Or maybe blank-checkmasters. Or Megamasters. Or Don't-hurt-my-warriors-masters. Paperdollmasters? I know... Pussmasters! All hail the PM! Or a name in response to the new name, maybe droolmasters.
In any case, Duel2 is absolutle a no go. Poke-A-Man is hilarious, but not likely.
Maybe Battlemasters?
I don't know... this is really lame. |

Duel2 makes me think of version 2 of something... like Diablo 2 or Terminator 2 or ... you get the point. |

I think realistically something with Alastari in the name would be best -- it's unique to this game and not likely to be co-opted by some giant corporation.
Duellists of Alastari?
Just plain old "Alastari" maybe? |
