Geno's Steaks is reputed to have the best Philly Cheesesteaks in the city, and it's only about 15 minutes away from the hotel. I haven't figured out logistics yet if I'm going to pick them up on the way to the hotel from NJ or take a drive after checkin.
So, let me know if you want anything and I'll collect $$$ and make a big cheesesteak run at some point in time on Friday 7/13!

Never been but Pat's is right across the street and Philladelphians are split over these 2! Be prepared when you get to the window with your order or your at the end of the line.... and ALWAYS when asked ... You want Cheez Whiz, may sound sick but that's how they are supposed to come!

If there's anyone who is a Coney Dog fan I'm hoping to get you guys to vote Detroit for a FtF with this Food Wars video. It is 20 minutes long so if you don't have the time but love Coney's then the first few and last few minutes are most important. They do show how each is prepared in the middle.
Don't let NYC try and fool you. Detroit is the REAL king of Coney Dog's. We did invent it afterall. Two Brother's and their decendants have feuded, literally next door to each other, for over 100 years!!!

We should order a crate of cheesesteaks for the whole convention one night... And they all think they are the best! Here's a good cheesesteak primer:

One of my customers is a Philly native. In her opinion, Geno's has the better cheesesteak. She said Pat's has great crinkle fries and liked them so much that she would always visit both places so she could get her sandwich at Geno's and fries at Pat's.
Funny side note, now that she's out West she's become a vegetarian!

"Yeah. It's mine".

"Aye, I've come to the right place then."

So the cheesesteaks are SOOOO good the ability to not get one turned someone into a Vegitarian. That's an excellent testimonial!
And for Consortium.... Provolone - The King of all Cheeses!
My brother says Tony Luke's is good and they are purposely rude to you as part of the ambience!
Anyone of the DMers up to Tony Luke's 5 lb Cheesesteak challenge?

I'm doing my best to record who said they wanted Cheesesteaks in chat.....
So far I have a Cheesesteak down for:
Sandy (+1 = Mike)
Lee
Myself
Grimm
Bubba
Storm Lord
Reaper
TDO
TGG
Consortium
Manager - plus fries
TUM - with WHIZ (not Provolone)
TMM
Rascally Rabbit
Please respond to this if you want a Cheesesteak on Friday 7/13 in Philly if you're not already on the list. Also, I'll be purchasing a Provolone Cheesesteak for you unless you specify from the menu otherwise. I'll be doing my pickup during Friday early afternoon and bringing them back to the hotel.
