I have lost all respect for any TRT users. I find it very very hard to believe that these guys all have natural low testosterone. Belfor, Sonnen, Henderson, & Marquardt all are suspect in my book. I cannot root for them ever.

How the EFF did Camus get a 30-27? IMPOSSIBLE. The upkick won it for him but won all 3 rounds? Fire that judge!

If I had the money 9-21-13 I would be buying my first PPV! What a card Exclamation

Light Heavyweight Jon Jones (c) vs. Alexander Gustafsson [a]
Bantamweight Renan Barão (ic) vs. Eddie Wineland [b]
Heavyweight Brendan Schaub vs. Matt Mitrione
Middleweight Costa Philippou vs. Francis Carmont
Lightweight Pat Healy vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov

Can the beast from Sweden beat the American beast? He certainly has more than a slim chance.

Barao against Wineland another great match.

Meathead versus the guy who beat Crocop! 2 guys from the TUF Heavyweights show!

12-2 Philippou against Carmont who is on a 10 fight win streak!

Khabib Nurmagomedov who has been beating experienced UFC level guys takes on a Submission specialist with 25 career fights!

There's a reason for an exclamation mark after each of those fight descriptions!

Not to mention TUF 18 starts Wednesday! Nice see new Topic!

Bantamweight Renan Barão (ic) vs. Eddie Wineland
Heavyweight Brendan Schaub vs. Matt Mitrione
Middleweight Costa Philippou vs. Francis Carmont
Lightweight Pat Healy vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov

Preliminary card (Fox Sports 1)

Lightweight Mike Ricci vs. Myles Jury
Bantamweight Ivan Menjivar vs. Wilson Reis
Welterweight Chris Clements vs. Stephen Thompson
Bantamweight Mitch Gagnon vs. Dustin Kimura No wins by Kimura but he does have an Achilles Lock finish. Rare.

Preliminary card (Facebook/Youtube)

Lightweight John Makdessi vs. Renee Forte
Lightweight Jesse Ronson vs. Michel Prazeres Pure guess
Bantamweight Roland Delorme vs. Alex Caceres Delorme- ready to make a name for himself?
Heavyweight Nandor Guelmino vs. Daniel Omielańczuk This guy is kinda' scary!

See if I can do as well as last time in my picks! Gustaffsson turns out Jones lights in round 1 or 2! This is an excellent card all the way down into the Facebook/Youtube prelims which has 2 guys I'd be watching for to climb the ranks in the next few years; Delorme and Omielańczuk!

Was a good night of fights! I do pay attention to the odds, but am not a gambler. I lost my imaginary money tonight! Schaub looked good, great ground game. I was surprised Khabib dominated Healy on the ground. Saw something new from him. Carmont layed-n-prayed his way to victory over Philippou, what a snoozer. Barao has now won 21 fights in a row! He is the class of that division. Gustafsson was a beast against Jones, fight of the year! Slow start to the main card, but what a finish!

Finally saw the replay of this card and I can see why people questioned the judging in this fight! Meaning it was close, with one card being odd. I had 1, 2, 3 for the Mauler and 4 and 5 for Jones; Gus gassed out. I could see flipping round 2 and ending up with the 48-47 score for Jones but I think Roy Nelson said it best: but 1 score looked like cj ross scored them .

note- CJ Ross is the judge who took a leave of absence after scoring the Alvarez-Mayweather fight a draw 114-114 when the other scores were 117-111 and 116-112 Mayweather and also scored the Bradley win over Pacquiao Shocked .

Awesome fight and will be tough to beat for fight of the year. I still think Gustafsson did more in the first 3 rounds and had the takedowns and takedown defenses; also did more damage IMHO. Most pros also had it for the Mauler but Dos Santos may have said it best, even though I think it has to be DEAD EVEN to go by this rule: Guys just remembering that in a close decision the champion keeps the belt because the challenger must have a clear victory to win the fight

As Stllgard said it started slow but came on STRONG! Can UFC 166 live up to UFC 165 as an overall card? Going to be tough! Not sure what to expect in the main event. I think if Dos Santos can survive round 1 he has a good chance, but I could see Velasquez landing one of those "mailboxes" and knocking him out round 1 - with chances of a KO diminishing the longer it goes. Dos Santos is clearly the best Boxer/Striker in the HW division, neither has much in the way of subs/ground game.

SLUGFEST!

I have watched it twice now and I still think Jones won round 2. I gave 1 and 3 to Gusta and 2, 4 and 5 to Jones. I think 2 was very close and could have gone either way, but in that case you always give it to the champ.

I can agree with that even if I disagree Laughing There's probably no way I could convince you nor could you convince me so as it goes that pretty much makes it even. I would have to see it again and pay closer attention to round 2 and I might change my mind.

I'd like to know which 4 rounds the 1 judge gave to Jones though. And Jones got lucky that Gus gassed out because I think he was quicker, could get inside almost at will, and had the ability to take everything Jones had to give and keep on coming. I cannot say I've ever seen a man, or woman, in MMA or Boxing with a chin like that, except maybe Ali (he of the rope-a-dope)! I know Scandinavians are strong but it's supposed to be Slavs who have the ability to endure punishment, genetically, maybe it comes from the Scandinavian interbreeding. Laughing

Perhaps he should take Santos' nickname CYBORG !

Another screwy decision! WTF?

2 judges score Boetsch winning all 3 rounds and 1 judge has Dolloway winning all 3 rounds; figuring in the 1 point deduction (30-26,30-26,29-27).

The fight was an all out war but being a close fight the odds of 2 picking all 3 rounds 1 way and the other picking all 3 the other way is what 1 in 108 (not sure on the math nor am I going to figure it out the long way since it's a formula from Algebra I have chosen to forget Laughing ); let's just say under 1% !?! Cool

Dos Santos took a wicked beating by the looks of his face after the fight. And he says he wants to fight Velasquez again? I think JDS must've suffered brain damage.

I'm wondering who's going to take this guy out. It might be like a Bones Jones or Spider Silva or GSP or Aldo or Barao situation. There are guys with the title now who you wonder who is out there that can beat them. GSP/Hendricks might be interesting.

I think Daniel Cormier trains with Velasquez and wants to drop to 205 and go after Jones. Rumor has it Werdum is next in line for a shot. He has beat Gabriel Gonzaga, Alistair Overeem and Antonio Silva. course he's best known for giving The Last Emperor, Fedor Emelianenko, his first true loss. Of course he lost to Dos Santos, and Overeem in their rematch. He is a submission specialist though. He has the same number of wins by sub as Frank Mir, Mir has 16 wins Werdum has 17, so they're probably the 2 best on the ground in the HW division, along with Josh Barnett.

Mir is fighting Overeem February 1,2014 so those 2 are out. Dana White said it's do or die for these 2 guys. Loser is likely dropped from the UFC. I pray it's Overeem that steroid bloated side show! Mir is a good gatekeeper in the HW division. Would seem weird if he were gone.

So only 2 I can see fighting Velasquez is either Werdum or Barnett. Am I missing anyone? Not Struve though that guy could get lucky against almost anyone, and he seems to surprise guys on the ground. I'm just afraid Velasquez w Laughing ould break that wiry dude in half if he caught him!

I get what your saying but to be correct, by how it goes, Barao has a 31 fight win streak. To be technically correct they don't count draws but yeah he's won 21 in a row and the draw was, a technical draw, when his opponent soccer kicked him in the head while he was on the ground and in some promotions they'd have DQ'd claudemir souza and given Barao the win. His only loss was in his first fight on a decision. What an INCREDIBLE RUN Exclamation

Need I say he's a BEAST?
