I've been away for awhile, and Gentle Ben roped me backed in.

I wanted to go 12-3-13-17-17-5-17 AB.

Ben is suggesting 17-3-13-17-17-6-11 ST or 13-3-13-17-17-10-11 ST.

Am I forcing this roll-up into the wrong style? Can the AB work, or is it doomed?

Better suggestions anyone?

Of course a nice aimer like that can work. Is it optimum? No. Would we play one like that? Sure! Aimers die, and 2 CON aimers really die.

If we plan to leave the 3 CON (and we do) then we want a fast and furious warrior, leaving as little chance to get hit as possible. That means offensive and for us the order might be ST, BA, SL, AB.

Hence, our best bet is a 13-3-13-17-17-10-11 ST.

(Sorry, and so sad that we have to agree with GB. Crying or Very sad )

That was 3 CON, but it will feel like 2.

hhmmmm. 12-3-13-13-13-5-11

I like 14-3-13-17-17-5-15 Slasher. Bump ST if you wish to use the battle axe, or just go at with the SC, BS, or GA. Double hatchets are good, too.

OR EVEN BETTER... 12-3-13-17-17-5-17 and see if it rolls with Good damage or better. (It should.) Bump ST if you want that GA, otherwise don't worry about it.

I don't think the low CN is that big a deal for a SL. Keep the KD low and if they get hit they usually quit. Better chance of surviving than an Aimer, anyway.

For a WoS the CN is way, way too low for my taste. A dangerous Slasher, though.

I'd probably go 17-3-13-17-17-6-11 BA myself.

Its rare to find such a nice Basher set-up that can use all the weapons!

Hey, OAB! Bashers used to be my favorite style, but I can't recall if this guy would be able to jump many offensives, or if he'll have to make his living hunting defensives.

He probably won't be jumping the Strikers, but will have a good shot vs the other offensives. He'll probably do best against the hybrid types.

I agree, the Basher design looks fun but will disappoint. This makes a real nice triple 17 SL that will have success.

I totally disagree with Buri, IMO, slashers are the worst offensive style and will lose to any other offensives. Even if you go the trip 17, I would still make it a BA and train ST to 13.

Since it's summer and I have time to kill, I'll go ahead and pour a little oil on the fire.

I don't like to make a slasher unless it has at least a 15 in WT, WL, & DF. Period. Generally get at least four statements on the overview, generally get pretty good damage rating for the size. Weapon choices are excellent, and no matter what armor the enemy is wearing, target the head and the body will fall... Cool

Although few of my slashers have graduated over the years, their problem is, inevitably, they rise too far too fast! Also, there are usually a few blood feuding Challenger Champs swooping down several levels to make things tougher. However, careful challenges can change all that. A triple 15 or 17 SL can take apart any defensive, even the scum. Just keep the OE at 6 or 7 and drop the AL to 1. And, if you drop the OE to 7 or 8 and keep the AL at 10, they're usually good at stealing the initiative away from those fast BA's and ST's and punishing them for it.

I would LOVE to have this roll up and I'd definitely run it as an Arcane Slasher. It's likely it would die, but it would have an impressive record until then. Very Happy

The trip 17s is awfully tempting. I really wanted those, and was just trying to find a style that it would work with. I'll definitely consider the SL.
