I officially declare that all these Europeans, and other nations, that declare Americans as "Violent War Mongers" and such to look in the mirrors! Sure we get involved in wars and we generally, of course not all or even most at times, agree with our decisions- both abroad and locally. But to hold our citizens accountable as a whole when you see CRAP like "Soccer Fan" pulls! Confused

I just read about this in the Sunday paper. Unbelievable.

Almost as disturbing as the atrocities themselves is the fact that it happened in Brazil, a pretty stable, emerging country that is hosting the olympics in a couple years. I wouldn't have been too surprised, unfortunately, if it had occurred somewhere in the middle east or Africa.

In any case, the level of fanatacism and violence that soccer now inspires in most parts of the world should be a huge red flag for all those leagues. They need to figure out how to calm things down. You couldn't pay me enough money to take my life in my hands going to see a match anywhere outside the U.S.
