Spirit, if Assur had not killed Judas in round 1 I would have enjoyed many excellent down challenges.Sadly I will be
forced to fight my way from the bottom. Upchallenging???? It just sounds wrong.
Up challenge? From the AA? Do you think me a fool? Lol

Kind of a strange tourney for me. I had fairly low expectations with only a single warrior I had any confidence in from Inits-Contenders. Job can always surprise, but hard to put any real expectations on that monstrosity; kind of like apprentices/rookies.
Apparently my tourney strategies are much more fatal to my opponents, because I killed 7 (I think all on Saturday). Performance-wise, virtually everything went as expected. Sadly, I didn't get a basher past round 5 this time in Contenders, breaking my streak. Start over! The one guy I felt good about (Clogged Chimney) lost to the eventual TC. My Adept guy that looked good on paper, but gave hints in the arena of not being good went 0-2-0-1.
Apprentices is where my only real surprise was. Otherwise warriors performed almost exactly how I expected them to. I looked great on Saturday night with 9 of my 15 Apprentice entries still in it. It was pretty stressful the last few rounds when every warrior was on the bubble (mine and others), but somehow I reached the final fight with two warriors. For the second tourney in a row, I had a PL go 7-3 (TVing with all 10 styles is still on my todo list).
I let them fight it out for the TC with normal strategies, random attack/protect locations, but did lower the KD's. And so I've now got a striker TC to my name and can stop using all my good basher setups on them.
Had a fantastic time! Was really glad to get to meet Den and the rest of the AA. (All the other new players, too, but I don't have years of history with the other players I hadn't met previously)
My final stats:
57 Entries, 204-174-7-1, 6 TV's, 1 TC.

I fought a few Crapmaster guys in Chicago. So I guess there are some out there that must be worth running.

You may have fought VENUS or MERCURY of CM-Scorpio; they went 6-3 and 7-3.
We took the CM team, as is, after the crapmaster event, and on a whim and a challenge, and said we could run the cra9 to a 60%+ w/l record; we ran them over a year to appx 63%.
We retired them, later rerolled the whole team and received 5 very decent warriors, of which Venus and Mercury are frontrunners. Beware!
