No comments from the peanut gallery.
I've wondered about this when I was a kid as well.
Why aren't there tridents in Duel Masters? I figure a net as a weapon didn't work well in game mechanics, but why not the trident? Have any of you heard the reason behind that?

I view the trident as a combo weapon; trident + net.
While the trident is a melee weapon I'd classify the net as a missile weapon.
There has been some talk (late 80s?) about adding a missile system to the ADM game which clearly that never happened.
That is my best guess why the trident and net did not end up in the game.

I see what you mean, Slugbait. But I was thinking that the trident could be a lunger and striker weapon. Minus the net of course.
