Getting back into the swing of things (get it? haha..ahem) after a decade-and-a-half-layoff, is it now verboten to submit personal ads via regular mail, along with the turnsheets, like I did it back in 1999? None of mine were published last turn. It's not a big deal but I'm curious if it was a matter of an oversight or if it's no longer an acceptable form of submitting ads?
And for something totally irrelevant, I discovered I really miss those big envelopes with the colorful edges.

Welcome Back!
I'm not the best person to answer this as I rarely send in personals anymore but I have heard from others that the girls are sometimes hesitant to input written ads and much prefer electronic ones. Email your PA's to ads@reality.com and make sure to type in the subject line the arena # and type (ie Personal Ad, Spotlight, etc).
Also make sure your email is in plain text.

make sure to label them:
Personal Ads
DM 14 (as an example, write or type in your arena number)
If you email them to ads@rsi.com put Personal Ads and your arena number with the prefix DM, in the title of the email.
Hope this helps!

Also, watch your e mail for a CONFIRMATION from Hal, which will tell you the persads made it and were accepted. If you do not get a conf in 24 hours, start over and resend them.

Hi SonsosSwords,
To even get more specific, I've noted that I've had to use exact verbiage in the Subject of my e-mail to get it to go through. Two examples are below.
team spotlight for DM 56
personal ads for DM 56
Please Note: I've had issued with Team and Personal capitalized, but when they are in lower case, it goes through. Furthermore, include a space between DM and 56. HAL is very fickle.
Also, ensure the e-mail in in 'plain text', otherwise there are issue with extra characters being inserted in the e-mail.
Lastly, as the Consortium indicated, watch for the Confirmation from Hal. If you don't get it, it didn't go through.
Good luck on the sands!

Thanks, Grimwood
I did send in the ads, and I got the confirmation from HAL about 15 minutes later, so it looks like I'm good. A shame they don't accept them mailed-in anymore, or so it seems, but hey, that's progress.
Thanks again, everyone.

Progress would be to accept strats via email.....but that is another thread and another can of worms we don't need to open.....again....

I didn't want to say this in case Sandy or Lee are lurking about but I've heard they are a bit lazy with entering written PA's and appreciate the easier "email" versions now as it is cut and paste or some such. Either way, its easier for you and them as long as HAL is working at the time of submission.

I prefer using email because it usually gets copy pasted exactly as submitted, whereas hardcopies sometimes end up with typos, but I've had hardcopy PAs printed as recently as a few weeks ago.
