I'm working to get our Summer Face-to-Face "midwest" location settled. I have it narrowed down to two decent possibilities for the July 14-16 weekend:

Kansas City: Hilton Kansas City Airport, $95/night room rate, free airport shuttle, free parking, restaurant, bar, Starbucks, free basic wifi, mini-fridge, pool, fitness room. Pizza deli across the street, other restaurants ~2 miles away
1550 sq ft meeting space

Minneapolis: Embassy Suites Minneapolis Airport: $149 king / $169 double room rate, free airport & Mall of America shuttle, free parking, free breakfast, free manager's reception, free wifi in meeting space, wifi in sleeping room ($), mini fridge and microwave, restaurant and bar, snack shop, pool, fitness room. Light rail stop is next door.
1600+ sq ft meeting space.

The Kansas City hotel also has the prior weekend (July 7-9) available.

If you plan to attend, which do you prefer? Any thoughts are appreciated.

[tried to do a poll, but it's being odd... please post your answers!]

I'd be driving to either one and they're about the same distance, so I'm good either way. Probably lean to KC since I haven't been there and the room is cheaper, but I'd be happy in Minn too.

Either one on the July 14-16 weekend is fine by me.

I have a contact at the Hilton, near the Airport. I just sent her a text this afternoon with our info. Lee, are you firm on the Embassy Suites?

Minneapolis would be awesome, it has my vote, and I am certain we could lure Philthy Phil and Crambus out of the dark alleys to attend as well.

Come out a day early and you can help me egg Deeders house.

Of course I'm going with KC. Although the allure of egging Deeders house almost won me over.

KC here. Glad that you were looking at the airport location. It's not too far from Zona Rosa and a few other "northland" attractions. My Crown Center and Plaza options just didn't work.

I'll be available to chauffeur in KC as well.

Go Royals!
