King of Primus 2024
====================
Who: 33-64 of the top teams and managers in Primus!

Each team must consist of 5 warriors, each of a *different* style.

A team may consist of one or more managers. A manager may belong to only one team.

Managers who are able to field 5 warriors of different styles for themselves are STRONGLY encouraged to do so, but for those that can't, combination teams are definitely allowed. Management reserves the right to veto any combination teams deemed "overpowered" (unlikely but you never know). Adopted warriors are allowed, but in the spirit of KOP is that managers are permanently giving the warrior to another manager (via long term hold) instead of just loaning out a warrior for the purposes of placing higher in KOP.

If you need help filling out your team, we will help find appropriate warriors, or you may seek out RSI employee teams to help fill out your teams. (RSI Employees are the only ones allowed to fill teams for the moment)

What: The King of Primus is a bracket-style competition where teams of 5 warriors fight against each other in a match play-like system.

Teams will be seeded 1 to X based on the AVERAGE rank of their warriors on turn 896 (due 5/2Cool of Primus. Warriors MUST be listed in the turn 896 newsletter to be eligible for the competition. Any ties in average rank will be broken by the ranking of the highest warrior.

On each team, warriors will be ranked 1 to 5 based on their ranking on turn 896 of Primus. During match play, the #1 warrior from Team A will match up with the #1 warrior from Team B, the #2 Team A warrior will match up with the #2 warrior from Team B, and so forth. Warrior rankings will remain static throughout the competition, as will manager seedings.

The King of Primus will be the one team that goes undefeated through the contest. Even though the contest is single elimination to determine the winner, there will be consolation rounds and everyone will have five to six matches, depending on the number of total teams entered. In the end, everyone will find out where their stable really ranks in Primus!

Because of the quick turnaround, we will probably not be able to correct mistakes (especially if they are RSI's). If they're mine, such as I counted wrong, awarded the wrong winner, etc., I will do my best to correct them and notify managers of match up changes before the next round. (In today's era, each manager should also text/diplo/message me their phone number after entering so I can quickly notify you of mistakes and changes.)

When: The contest will take place starting on Primus turn 897 (play-in round if necessary) and will run for six turns, ending on turn 903.

Remember that your warriors must be listed in the turn 896 newsletter to be eligible, so it's not a bad idea to climb up high in the rankings now to earn as high a seed as you can.

How: To enter, you can sign up in this forum thread, write an ad in the Primus newsletter, or PM/Email Manager with the following information: The Name(s) of managers on your team, the 5 warriors to be on your team (name AND ID# AND style), as well as a DYO warrior design (that has no more than 1 21) for a Royal Court Selection.

Example: Manager's Team
---------------
1. Bonnie (29-2780) (AB)
2. Goldwrap (82-11886) (LU)
3. Koji Shikeru (40-2619) (SL)
4. Skyfire (37-2065) (PL)
5. Patience (1-2619) (TP)

My DYO Design: 21-12-12-12-12-12-3 PS

Since the contest takes place in the arena, you'll have to read the newsletter and the forums to figure out who you will match up against each turn. We'll post all the managers and teams before the contest begins, as well, to make it easier. In addition, there will be a seeding announcement in Chatzy the night before Turn 896 posts.

Once you are entered, your warriors will run *regardless* of whether or not you entered a strategy! So you can't miss a turn, but you're also committed to running for the duration of the event!

Prizes: The winner of the competition will be named the King of Primus!!! As winner, you get to control the fate of the arena for a very special Turn 904 (and potentially beyond) The winner of the contest can select four "decrees" from a list of items that will affect how Primus plays out over the next few months!

They are:
==========
- Rename the Arena for 10 turns.
- Have a non-automated spy report written by you or the manager of your choice
- Increase/Decrease the Skill Learning by a lot for one turn
- Increase/Decrease the Skill Learning by a little for ten turns
- Increase/Decrease the Training Percentage by a lot for one turn
- Increase/Decrease the Minimum Training Percentage by a little for ten turns
- Increase/Decrease the Kill Percentage by a lot for next turn
- No Challenges and/or Avoids for one turn
- Bring back the Defend Gate Challenge for one turn
- Have an NPC Match-Up Week for one turn
- If you have other ideas, the Commission may consider it, but will have the right to refuse.

As the King of Primus, you also receive a member of the Royal Court! The King of Primus will receive a 0 FE copy of his own DYO warrior design to bring onto a team, as well as another random manager's design.

The last place manager is deemed the Court Jester and wins a Hyborian War Set-Up.

Every fight win, earns the winning manager one KOP Coin, which can be turned in for prizes at the KOP shop at the end of the competition. (So if you lose your fight 2-3, you still win 2 coins) A manager can only earn up to 25 KOP coins total for the duration of the contest. See the current list of items in the KOP shop at the bottom, items may be added or removed at any time.

There is also an exciting Consolation Prize Pool to keep everyone motivated to finish as high as possible. There are 50+ items in the Consolation Prize Pool--one of each item. The First Place Winner gets first choice of an item in the pool, second place gets the second choice, and so on. Whoever finishes last gets to choose from the remaining items.

Here are the items in the Consolation Prize Pool:

near an electical outlet. We can also print a sign for your chair.

Bonus Palooza Prize -- Add a whopping +8 bonus skills wil be added to your warrior at random! Then, 7 skills will be taken
away from a random area! You can't control where the skills are added or removed from, but your warrior won't end up out of bounds in any skill area.
(You can't use this prize on a warrior that needs less than 8 to totally max out on bonuses.)

Skill Learns Palooza Prize -- Add a whopping +10 learned skills will be added to your warrior at random! Then, 9 skills will randomly be taken
away! You can't control what areas the skills are added or removed from. (But you won't drop below zero in learns) You can't use this prize
on a warrior that needs less than 10 skills to skill max.

Educated Guesses Prize -- You can take 5 total guesses of the exact favorite offensive effort and activity level of any of your warriors in Primus. Green Eyes will tell you if your
guesses are correct or wrong. (For example, I can guess that my Lunger's favorites are 8-8 and if I'm right Green Eyes will tell me
that I'm correct but if my exact favories were 7-8, she would tell me I'm wrong and I would have to use another guess if I were trying to get the exact favorites)

Special Size Roll-Up Potion: RSI will roll 3D6. For every warrior you have in Primus of the same Size that matches the number that RSI rolled, you get a free roll-up! (For example, if RSI rolls a 9, for every SZ 9 warrior you have in your Primus stable--you get a free roll-up.) (No crazy warrior transferring shenanigans, please. There is a maximum limit of 5 roll-ups that can be won with this prize)

Keep your DYO -- Get a copy of your own Royal Court DYO that you designed when you entered to put onto a basic team!

Someone Else's DYO -- Get a copy of someone else's Royal Court DYO (chosen at random) that they designed to put onto one of your basic teams!

Crapmaster's Roll-Up -- You get a copy of any one of the last roll-ups submitted from the last Crapmasters Contest to use!

Ripper Frenzy Prize -- For one turn, all of your Primus Inducted Parry-Ripostes fight for free! If you have one million PR's in Primus, this prize could be worth over a million dollars!

Ambidexerity Potion -- Change one of your Primus warriors to become ambidextrous!

Mystery Potion -- Select a warrior. Something about that warrior might change, although you have no control over what it is! (Think of it like a Zap potion,
but you have no idea what's going to be zapped!)

KOP Legacy Prize -- You can get clone a prize that was in the Consolation Prize Pool in the last 2 KOPs--as long as the same
prize is not being offered in this one.

All prizes must be used on a warrior fighting in DM 102 unless specifically stated. RSI reserves the right to reclassify warriors or alter favorites of warriors classed as Eligibles who
may be receiving out of bounds favorites.

***NEW***
THERE WILL BE SECONDARY BRACKET IN THIS COMPETITION! Every manager has the option of entering a second bracket consisting of the 5 styles they are NOT using for KOP. (So if your KOP styles are LU-PL-ST-AB-PS, your secondary team must be BA-SL-WS-PR-TP).
Seeding, bracket and team formation will work the same as the regular KOP. With the matchup scheduled to be determined based on the number of secondary teams.

Sample bracket Format entry:
-----------------------------
Manager's Secondary Team:
--------------------------
Big Bertha (23-2241) BA
Splash (84-11113) WS
Weird Warrior(82-14828) PR
The Tortoise (72-1383) PS
Works 4 Evil Empire (82-3317) ST

(Notice how the styles of Manager's Secondary Team are all different from the styles of his first team!)

Prize: The winner of the secondary bracket wins an extra draft pick in the consolation prize pool. They will be inserted in the draft order in the
position of their main draft pick minus one. For example, if they win the secondary bracket and they finished 7th in the main bracket. They will be
inserted in the 8th position. Whatever prize they pick does *not* disappear from the consolation prize pool. (So the person after that can still pick it)

They will also receive two KOP coins for every *match* win. (But you still can't exceed the 25 coin cap). Combination teams will split KOP coin wins. You
can enter the main bracket solo and then combine with another manager for a secondary team. You can also request one NPC/Commission warior to join your team
of a certain style.

quite note, Lee said the following decrees would be too tricky to implement:

- Increase/Decrease the Skill Learning by a little for ten turns
- Increase/Decrease the Minimum Training Percentage by a little for ten turn

(So these two are gone and also we are reducing the number of decrees to 3 because of this)
