Managers will vote via personal ad. Managers will be weighted based on how many arena fights they have in September & October. =============================================== From 4 December through 17 December we will be voting for the Player Committee. If you are one of the 17 players who have had your rollup received at RSI, you can vote for 5 Members of the Following list, as well as for the inaugural Chairman. As RSI informs me that more Rollups have been received I will add to the list of eligible voters. There are 7 candidates for the Player Committee x Apex = CAROLINA BLUE - Cf PC - Cf PCC x Blackstorm = DARK ENCLAVE - Cf PC x Drake = DRAKE'S HARDWARE - Cf PC x MasterBeru = CHILDHOOD HEROES - Cf PC x rillon = THE DRAUGS - Cf PC x The Consortium: Smitty = LIFE IMPACTS - Cf PC - Cf PCC SlugBait = ORCS HATE PHYSICS -Cf PC x = rollup received at RSI There are 2 Candiates for the Chairman x Apex = CAROLINA BLUE - Cf PC - Cf PCC x The Consortium: Smitty = LIFE IMPACTS - Cf PC - Cf PCC Please Vote in the following format: Deke's vote for Player Committee = Apex, Drake, MasterBeru, rillon, The Consortium: Smitty Deke's vote for Chairman = The Consortium: Smitty 17 Teams Received by RSI who are eligible to vote: Apex = CAROLINA BLUE - Cf PC - Cf PCC Bill = CLUB CUTTHROAT Blackstorm = DARK ENCLAVE - Cf PC DeGotti = CULT OF BACCHUS Darque = DARQUE AGES Deke = DOC LEGRAND'S LAB Drake = DRAKE'S HARDWARE - Cf PC _Indimar_ = AS SEEN ON TV II Kat = KATHOUSE Kellumbo = KELLUMBO'S KIDS LePentarque = LA PENTARCHIE MasterBeru = CHILDHOOD HEROES - Cf PC Nomad = DRAGONBANE GUILD pauly = ALE HOUSE MERCS rillon = THE DRAUGS -Cf PC Roadkill = STREET WALKERS Terminator = WARMASTERS The Consortium: Smitty = LIFE IMPACTS -Cf PC - Cf PCC CR (Committee Rule) 1) The player with the most votes for Chairman will fill slot 1 [Chairperson] and that term expires end of March 2007. CR 2) The player with the most votes overall will fill slot 5 and that term expires end of November 2007. CR 3) The player with the second most votes overall will fill slot 4 and that term expires end of September 2007. CR 4) The player with the third most votes overall will fill slot 3 and that term expires end of July 2007. CR 5) The player with the fourth most votes overall will fill slot 2 and that term expires end of May 2007. CR 6) During the month that the chairperson's term expires the Player Committee will select one of the remaining 4 players to be the next chairperson. CR 7) During the month that any member's term expires the arena will vote for a different player to join the Players Committee. CR 8) The Inaugural vote will be held in the forum. If RSI confirms that you have sent in a rollup team, you will be able to vote. CR 9) Once the arena starts, if your team has [maximum number of fights -5] fights during the 2 months prior to the election, you can vote. Voting will be recorded in the Personal Ads. Slot 6 will be elected at the end of March based on arena participation in January and February. Slot 7 will be elected at the end of May based on arena participation in March and April. Slot 8 will be elected at the end of July based on arena participation in May and June. So if the arena runs 3 turns in January and February, the maximum fights are 15. Anyone with 15 - 5 = 10 fights during that time period will be eligible to vote for Slot 6 at the end of March. And if the arena runs 4 turns in March and April the maximum fights are 20. Anyone with 20 - 5 = 15 fights during that time period will be eligible to vote for Slot 7 at the end of May. Let's say that Wayne is the Inaugural Chairman in slot 1. He serves as Chairman in January, February and March. He will not be on the committee in April or May. He might be elected starting in June. He will not be eligible for the Chairman until the acting chairman's term is over. I have designed it so that the inaugural Chairman will serve only a brief term at the beginning of the arena. Whoever is the Second Chairman w ill likely have a longer tenure on as the Chairman. Official Notice: I will run for the Player Committee slot 6. If I am elected I will serve from April 2007 to January 2008. I cannot run for chairman until the acting chairman's term has expired. This means have to serve on the committee for at least 2 months before you can run for Chairman. CR 10) When the slot 1 Chairman's term expires, the first 5 players (including the retiring Chairman) will vote for a new Chairman, one of the 4 remaining players on the committee. CR 11) The Chairman's vote is the tiebreaker in case of a tie vote. CR 12) The committee can eject a player from the committee. If the Chairman calls a vote, AND the 4 other players all agree to eject a single player, that player will be ejected. There will be a special election to fill that player’s slot. The new committee member will complete that slot’s duration, not the full 8 months. CR 13) If the 4 regular members all agree, the Chairman can be ejected as well. The 4 regular members must first agree to select one of them to be the new Chairman. CR 14) A player can resign from the committee. If a player resigns there will be a special election to fill that player's slot. The new committee member will complete that slot's duration, not the full 8 months. The following is my opinion. The Player Committee will be free to act on their own accord towards the best interest of the arena at large. I see the Committee as having 1 obvious and 2 subtle roles in the arena. 1) Obviously we need to enforce the No-Tournament ban. The committee will work with RSI's support to identifying any Arena 81 warrior that is sent to the tournament. My goal for the arena is that no warrior that has gained extra FE, Skills, Prizes, etc be allowed to fight in the arena. I am looking to play in an environment free of outside influences. I think that any warrior that REMAINS in the arena after fighting in a tournament, or gaining a prize or other outside effect, should be sent to the dark arena until that warrior is dead. If a player wants to use an Arena 81 warrior in a tournament, I would hope that the player would move the entire team out of Arena 81. If RSI develops some usable method for removing a single warrior, I would not be opposed to a player removing a warrior from Arena 81 and RSI sending in a replacement rollup for that warrior. I am not trying to prevent players from participating in tournaments; I am just trying to keep arena 81 a Tournament Effect Free arena. Who knows, maybe RSI will offer some Super Amazing tournament prize. I do not want to stop anyone from using an Arena 81 warrior to win that prize; I just want the warrior out of the arena after the tournament. Players should be able to move teams out of arena 81 without penalty. If they want to start over with a new team, I say welcome (so long as they only have 1 team.) I would expect that the Player Committee would meet after each tournament, look for offenders, hold a majority vote and instruct RSI to send the offenders to the Dark Arena on the next (and if needed subsequent) turn. 2) I also see the player committee as an oversight group to maintain the essence of fair play in arena 81. I have no issue with players that miss an occasional turn. My issue is with players that skip turns as a method to avoid challenges. If a player has legitimate reasons for missing a turn, I want to encourage the player to inform the Player Committee as the problem occurs. The leverage the Player Committee will have is to instruct RSI to transfer a team out of arena 81. I only see this action occurring after multiple offenses, a warning, a post-warning offense, and a majority vote of the player committee. I do not want to stop a player from playing DM2 however they desire; I just want to stop them from interfering with managers who want to maintain a fair and open style of play. 3) Perhaps most important, the Player Committee should choose NOT to become involved with individual disputes. The five players of the committee should only address actions that affect the entire arena, not specific players. Slanderous personal ads, bloodfueding an Initiate with a Champion and downchallenging should not involve the Player Committee. Other Player Committee Rules: AR (Arena Rule) 1) If you miss a turn with prior warning & an outside-of-game reason (such as finances, vacation, etc) then no penalty. AR 2) If you miss a turn & have an outside-of-game reason after the fact (such as delayed mail, forgot to give notice with an above reason, etc) then no penalty so long as it's not a regular occurrence. AR 3) The first "unexcused absence" gets a warning. The second gets a Final Warning. The third strike means you're out. AR 4) Unexcused absences drop off after 12 months. AR 5) In this case an "unexcused absence" is anything that doesn't satisfy qualifications 1 & 2 above.
It would be nice if we left politics out of this, no system works right anyway. We all agreed on the rules of the play in this arena. Anyone who doesn't follow these very simple rules will reap the consequences of their acts. I have a funny feeling that we'll have trouble with some hard heads, player commitee be watchful!!! I'll be keeping my eyes peeled too.

Hence you will never see me in one of these
committee run arenas.
Then you will be missed my friend because it may work out that the No Tourney Arenas graduates get transferred to a No Tourney ADM Arena!

People are paying for what they want.
There is community oversight.
People can do whatever they want so long as it does not impact other players.
And players are always welcome to leave.
There are term limits. Voting is based on contribution to the community (not an entitlement for the masses and not by appointees.)
Excellent, does that mean I'll be able to run there whenever I choose with as many warriors as I choose?
Of course not. Tossing fights, manipulating flaws in the recignition system, and doing all the other fun a-hole stuff that directly impacts other players, thats all allowed. Running only 3-4 cuz you're sick of daing the 3 wit 3 will rollup, skipping turns, and all that stuff that doesnt impact others, well thats just not tolerated.

Actually, according to your rules, only if he goes to the tourney can you have his guys fight the DA. Worst you could do is ban him, which I dunno how enthused RSI is gonna be over kicking folks outa an arena for only runnin 4.
And considering the majority of dm players call in, fax, or maint their turns, and you cant call in or fax a rollup, you are going to see plenty of not whole teams fighting anyways.
I say you'll be at 15 teams or less by turn 26 anyways, earlier if the player council decides to be super anal.

Had we known we were going to get lulled into a political manipulation bt The Outsiders to foster the ranks of the Libertarian Party, we might have, instead of contributing, pulled a fillibuster.
