Hi all,
Well, I am about 5 turns into my DM career and
things seem to be going ok. Lots of dead warriors
from one reason or another but definately some
bright spots.
So what is the usual format of the mail in tourney?
What exactly am I getting for $7.00 a warrior?
What is the minimum amounts of fights a warrior
will get? How are they eliminated? Will the fights
fought in the tournment be reflected in the arena
win / loss column? Thanks for the info.

1. Triple elimination format. Basically you need to win 1 of your first 3 fights to stay in the tourney. (Barring death that is)
2. You get a chance to get a TV (any warrior who survives round ten with a 8-2 record or better), which allows you a TV challenge in the regular arena. Or even better yet a TC the warrior with the best overall record at the end, comes with a prize of some sort and I think free play until the next tourney for that warrior.
3. See 1
4. Also see 1
5. NO the record does not reflect arena record. It will however increase recognition and adds 1 FE for every Even round you last. If you TV you are awarded Political Points which help you graduate that warrior.
Hope that helps.

Having never actually participated in a tourney, I can only answer what I know for sure, and that is that the only effects a tourney has on a warrior in their home arena is the experience gained and the perks of TC/TV (challenges and such). Your tourney record is separate from your arena record, and I don't think it's easy to tell which warriors have been to a tournament from the newsletter rankings.
What you get for your seven bucks is something I'd be interested in hearing, as well as the minimum fight guarantees.
Any tourney pros reading?

What's been said is correct. Also, in most mail-ins, only the warriors who are undefeated in Round 10 go on to the runoffs. So you need to read the tourney announcement and pay attention to the format. |

Isn't it 1 FE for every ODD round that you last? You gain an FE at 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 etc... the even rounds are the 'free' fights.

RSI states that on average you will have, I believe, around 5-6 fights per warrior. But keep in mind that's an average and guys like me tend to help out the lower levels of that average for the guys who take up the higher end of the average. *Ahem* Sentinel, Manger? *Ahem* (Those two are usually my bane in any tourney) |
