I am on the fence about whether contests are good or bad in the long run for their host city.
I'd be inclined to leave things alone, assuming that an arena is lively enough without a contest, although I don't have terribly strong feelings either way.

We could continue our fun from 45!
Funny you should mention this. I'm actually considering running the next installment of the Slaughterhouse (or a variation thereof) in Sunset if the current managers are not against it.
A regular speed arena? Interesting...
Well, I can't speak for the others, but I wouldn't object. There are some younger managers that would have to be surveyed, but it is an interesting idea.
Yep, regular speed. The Slaughterhouse has turned out to be everything I hoped for it when I conceived the idea. Good participation and close competition being the main factors I was hoping to achieve, and they have been met well through the contests half way point. I think it could have a bigger draw to managers who won't step foot in a slow arena. Plus many of the managers that are currently participating are fast arena managers normally with only a few of us being the exceptions (Wretch, Kat and myself).
I think a variation of the contest would be in order because of Sunset's history. It deserves a contest all of its own in my opinion.
Just a seed thought for the time being. The Slaughterhouse and TOGS are still in full swing, and the Turf War is upcoming. I would probably be looking to start after the Spring Mailer if enough people are interested in Sunset.
Well, that IS interesting.....
I guess right now the only way I'd be able to participate would be if it were there, I'm guessing Nomad would say the same.
I'd be fine with it, I think. We'll have to let it stew a while...

I think there are positives and negatives that can be addressed no matter which side one takes on the issue.
I however will state that I would never sponsor a contest in an arena where a large number of regulars objected. There are always other options if the residents of Sunset are against it.
Stik has the best plan of action--let everyone think on it a while. There is no rush.

If Sunset is not found to be viable you know I'm always ready to pimp Tobir (14). It's pretty dead but in the early days it always hosted one of the largest "dead list" s of any arena. A fitting place for a slaughter!

I am not going to tell you to "BEWARE I AM COMMING" because that just sounds EGOTISTICAL, but I should be there next turn. I mailed them off today, so they should be there in time as long as they don't lose them. They are in the same envelope as 81, so it should be ok.
See ya on the sands!!!!

You each have 3, I wouldn't be surprised to see us matched up on the first round. My boys and girls like to party alittle, so I hope they are up for thier first fight.
