won't matter - my ST is goin' to win it anyhow... might as well just keep your AB at home for the FTF.

Figured I would bump this thread. Because was it just me, or were there a lot more open handed aimed blow rookies this tournament than usual?! At least I ran into a bunch. I even tried it myself with some mixed results. Is this a new trend, or maybe just an anomaly, with all the trip 21 godling aimers that were made from the spring mail-in prize finally starting to run?
Just something I was thinking about, and wanted to throw out there. |

Based on your demand , we ran 5 aimers in rookies (usually we run zero) and all ran FI against lesser armor. We saw, as you noted, quite a few more as such. It worked pretty well, as two of ours TV'd @ 8-3-1 and 10-3. We suspect that TMM and TUM had a mess of them, and we would not doubt that some were prize pumped. Ours were not. |

I think it depends on the prize, skills prize probably not, bonus or damage (or something else you could get on the roll) probably. |

I ran one Rookie AB using primarily the Fist, a pretty benign looking trip-17 who overperformed and went 7-3. I'm not sure if I should deduce that he is a Fist favorite from this or that he simply got lucky. |

The right AB can do fine with FI in the rookies. But its not as easy to do as say in ADM or Eligibles. Gotta have the right learn and the right strategy. Maybe 1 in 10 or 15 can be very successful? |

I'm pretty sure that Guardian was able to do this several years back with Stanley's Cup. He went 19-0 and from what I remember, was virtually unhittable.
I've tried it myself, but I've never been nearly that successful, as my open-handed guys get hit a lot. Even getting parried once or twice makes them very susceptible to being hit and knocked down(and losing and dying...). |
I fought this warrior in that tourney, and he ran it with daggers main and offhand, or at least he did against my slasher. The problem early on, as everyone knows is the very small chance of getting parried. I'm gonna go out on a limb, and I may be wrong, but im positive that it could only take little damage which surely would have cost him a fight or two IF it happened. I'm sure it didnt, so I dont guess it matters. |

and not to take anything away from Guardian, turns out he's not that bad of a guy, , but Stanley's Cup was about as potioned as you can have a rookie. I know he had a fav's prize, and had a master in defense due to a skills potion, not to mention that I'm positive that warrior the prizes were used on was already bonused out the a-hole anyways, lol. |

I can confirm that there was at least one other fist AB in the Final 5 at the 2011 Winter FTF. |
