There are a couple of replies where it is mentioned that some previous managers would never consider playing again. Do we know why? Is it just the game holds no interest for them any more or some other reason?

Some left because they felt it was time to move on, some didn't like seeing their topend warriors go nowhere due the the over powering dominance of unhittable aimers(not that i am in a position tohave that problem, just saying what i have been told)some, ahem, got hooked on MMO's and cant pull themselves away from the keyboard to fill out a strategy sheet, and some just stopped playing for personal or financial reasons. Some pop in here and there though, and some actually do come back.

Mine are mostly for nostalgic reasons more so than anything else. I think I originally got hooked on this game more in due to the spotlights, the personal adds, and the general bantering than the game itself and as such remember with fondness...

The Professor (DM35) - Role player extraordinaire, and a fantastic writer. I remember some of Professor's spotlights from back in the 90's better than I remember entire books I've read. In addition to penning some of my all time favorite DM writing he also created maps, topographical diagrams, and an annotated history of Murska which he distributed for free upon request. I believe I still have a copy of it all laying around somewhere.

Vlad Taltos (29 and 35) - Another great writer and a key figure in Lapur and Murska when I first started playing. He ran slews of ABs before they were dominant, but as I remember it lost close to as many as he ran... usually in some completely unlikely fashion that would have driven me mad had it been me. Spotlights were less intricate than Professor's but always clever and with a great deal of tongue in cheek type humor in them.

Tex (lots o places) - I don't know what went down to get him (her) banned from the game, so have no opinion on that, but personally have nothing but fond memories of him. Great presence in every arena I shared with him and always very helpful, a contributing part of the community, and a good writer.

Some others that bring back memories.... Slowburn, Riff-Raff, Falcon Master, The Dealer, Roadkill, Mr. Mustache, Black Peter, Cicero...

Off the top of my head.

In DM 29 Lapur...

My old friends Vlad Taltos, Black Peter and Purple Sage. Slowburn, Roadkill and the 3 guys from Wisconsin I met at the Allerton Chicago FtF, Dominator, Kharl and Guido.

In DM 3..

All the GAAPDA guys, Lunatic, Staple Gun, Papa Balrog, Fusion and Forge. All of whom I have found on Facebook but don't seem interested in returning to the game. Also in Osksi, John Little aka Talon.

The Professor was my DM sponsor when I first started. Very helpful getting me through the basics of the game and some style pointers. I had my dad too, but there was so much he didn't understand either. The internet explosion soon made the sponsor program obsolete by snail mail and I think it died around that time. But, it was and is still a good idea just through different mediums.

I actually think this is the guy that helped my dad when he started in the game.

Jason "Mr. Animal" Williams and Jason "Rhialto" Ives resurfaced as two of the Neo-Frothingsloshers (Manray and Gergin, respectively). Last time I saw them was at the 2004 or 2005 Tempe FtF. Williams desinged the Frothingslosh logo and had T-shirts made for all of us.

Seeing the Frothingslosher's in those shirts was awesome, and if I'm not mistaken when they first wore them was my first F2F. A very lively table, one of the things I remembered most about my first F2F......love it.
