The first Turf War VIII alliance has been announced. Read the next DM47 newsletter for the details.

Is your alliance prepared to do battle?

Are you too fearful to announce your alliance yet?

Are you indecisive and/or simply have been procrastinating?

There are only a few turns remaining to get your entry persad, your captain's confirmation, and your certs mailed to a coordinator.

WARNING - there are only three more newsletters for declarations for the Turf War. AND, your captain must confirm after you declare. PLUS, two certs must be in the hands of Master Darque or Old Oz prior to competing.

Right now it is just the two of us. I am trying to recruit one person and we are open to add a player or two, with the caveat that we do not expect to win. Both OAB and I are playing for the bonus potion. I do not plan to run my team in tourneys.

Got two certs from "Club Fed" - which in the past has been an alliance of three managers.
Does anyone know specifically the manager or team these are from?

Surely a single personal ad from the captain saying that a manager is part of a team is good enough for confirmation?

Does it really matter if the confirmation occurs before, after, or on the same turn that the managers themselves announce?

Having since spoken to Consortium, I guess it does!

Your thoughts have value. It is possible to change the expectations or a required "order" of declare, then confirm. This rule was initiated because in the early days, most managers joined a captain who announced in a newsletter that he/she was starting a team. Then there was switching and both captains and teammates were shunned and hurt by surprise changes. Perhaps there is a better way - but this year the make the wording in the rules of first declare, then confirm have been made clearer. Next year the altering of the acceptable order will be reviewed, and quite likely changed.

I'd love to join but between RL and HW it's a bit tight financially. Not to mention I still have 2 "slacker" warriors on the team there that would hurt my performance; one is close to graduation the other is a SZ 18 DF 21 LU who has a WT of 8 and has learned 4 skills in 21 FE - with a 6-12-1 record he always fights lower FE warriors so he doesn't promise to graduate before 40-50 FE or more.... far more to get 17 PPs I'd guess. He would almost surely have to sit out and since I got this team from Merlin I'd like to try and graduate these last 2 survivors of the team as I got it so many,many years ago (came with a 21 DF: LU,PR,and BA along with an 8 CN 17 DF TP).

Rumor has it that Deep Thought, The Mun, Sigurd F, and Scruffy Puff are joining TW8 as an alliance. What a team!

We hope they do.
