Lee has it "scheduled" as Atlanta.
There wasa lobby at the Philly Face for New Orleans.
There were several New Orleans, but others who do not like the idea of New Orleans.
Atlanta has easy options for Lee, is cheapish, and easy to fly to, with reasonably low flight costs.
New Orleans is more difficult and/or more costly in the items above.
New Orleans would be a new place that vacationers may wish to bring partners.
Atlanta is tried-and-true and 'been there done that".
YOU NEED TO MAKE YOUR OPINION KNOWN TO LEE, if you wish to be a part of the decision making.
Personally we are ambivalent, even though we could drive the 2.5 hours to Atlanta rather than need to fly.

Good post Wayne, though I think the vast majority of the people at the face preferred New Orleans based on the chorus of 'Boos' when Atlanta was mentioned and the applause when New Orleans was mentioned...

I actually just got off the phone with the Embassy suites in New Orleans to do some of the potential leg work for the girls. Their location is roughly 8-9 blocks south of the French Quarters only a few blocks away from the Mississippi river, the Aquarium, Harrahs Casino and dozens of amazing restaurants.
The main thing that may affect their decision about doing it there is their cost..... the conference room is $600/day PLUS $200/day for internet and regular rooms for attendees would be approx $130-150/night. Hopefully Lee could negotiate to get the cost down.
They have the complimentary breakfast and Manager's reception... and as we've experienced in the past... outside food can't be brought into the conference room. The room can be left open for 24 hours however... unlike in Orlando where that was an issue.
I've been to New Orleans roughly 10 times and it's one of my favorite cities to visit.... I'd most definitely get there on a Thursday for that one to enjoy some of the food/drink/sights!!!!!

I might be able to convince the wife to go if it were in NO otherwise it would not happen for me.

That issue was in Cleveland, not Orlando.
I would likely attend if in Atlanta. I would definitely not be attending if in New Orleans.
Another thing to consider is what if a hurricane threatens, since it is a possibility that time of year.

Good job scouting, Adam. FYI, Embassy Suites also allows you to rent your room in advance and get a good discount for pre-payment. My room in Philly cost like $25/night less when I did that.
Even if the costs are a little higher, I think the turnout would be greater in New Orleans. Half of the managers I talked to were saying they wouldn't go to Atlanta if it was there, but would go to New Orleans. I'm right in line with that thinking, myself.
Appreciate the legwork!

I thought that was last year, in Milwaukee?

It was. I wasn't in Cleveland, so it could have been a problem there as well. Milwaukee definitely had that issue.

Wasn't a FtF in Atlanta in 2007, and then Orlando in 2010? If it were in Atlanta next summer, that would make 3 summers out of the last 6 in virtually the same area. I thought RSI wanted to spread it around...?
To add to the list, I would definitely go to a FtF in NOLA, and probably bring one or two managers with me. I would NOT go if it were in Atlanta.
