As I've been asked a few questions over email and on Chatzy about tournament details in the past couple days, I thought I'd re-post this information from another thread under a very easy to recognize title.
Tourney announcement has been located, although there is no link yet:
And for this tournament only, managers of Tournament Champions will earn an opportunity that ranks as every guildmaster's greatest dream: They will be given one Zombie Potion, which allows them to choose any of their dead warriors and resurrect it as a zombie! Zombies are not known for their intelligence (-4 Wit) but they have enhanced Strength (+2), Will (+2), Attack skills (+2 to base), the maximum damage ability for its attributes (in perpetuity), and can use both arms (and legs) equally well! (All modifications will leave the warrior within natural boundaries for their arena.) All Dead Tourney Tournament Champions will be resurrected and granted immortality; Tournament Victors of the Dead Tourneys will only be resurrected. Immortal warriors may not challenge the Dark Arena.

Intrepid reporter Marma Duke interviewed RSI about the specifics of this new TC prize. Here is what he learned:
"max damage will remain in effect regardless of future" (like a normal max damage potion)
"the +2 attack and +1 attack from ambi will stack to +3 as long as the bonus doesn't take them out of bounds" (like normal ambi and +1 bonus potions)
"the stat bumps and shrinks will not be treated as trains and the skills will not burn" (so the warrior will have new base attributes)
"you can not use this prize on a warrior with less than 7 wit. all warriors will remain 84 pts." (presumably this prohibits use on warriors with 20-21 ST and 20-21 WL, as well)
"you can not use this on an adm guy who dies in a fight as they are rezzed immediately"
"race will be changed to zombie"
"if you DA a new rollup and apply this prize it will run in apprentices and not rookies"

I mailed in my strategies yesterday. The prize had zero impact on what I ran, as I had already settled on a lean tourney roster and started busting out ADM-level warriors the turn before.
Sending 40 warriors:
- 29 living, 11 dead
- with at least 1 warrior competing in every class
- with at least 1 warrior of every style
- my biggest classes are Apprentices and Rookies with 5 warriors each
- my smallest classes are Primus, Contenders, Challengers, and Dead Challengers, with 1 warrior each
- my most numerous fighting style is AB with 8
- my least numerous fighting styles are WS and TP with 1 of each
After viewing my FedEx bill for the last tourney, I've vowed to stick with USPS from now on. It will take an iron will to steer clear of this site and Chatzy once the FedEx deliveries start reaching people, but I will persevere.
The prize is interesting and situationally good, but not overly powerful. I applaud RSI for toning down the power level of TC prizes lately and I hope to get the opportunity to try and use one!
Looking forward to the tourney, as always.

Like OAB, we ......
send lean to Mailers - much more to Faces
our 20ish (a lot different from we sent 100+ to both Mailers and Faces, eh?) and appx half dead, and half of the live are due to the event in DM47
it will not be a strong crew
the prize had no impact on our roster, although, we don't see a strong use for this prize; the TC is worth far more than the prize to us.
will not be using FEDEX - we, too will avoid the site and Chatzky after the Mailer until we receive our tournament
good luck to all

No FedEx?
You guys are killin' me! Help a brother's future game play out by having your tourneys sent via FedEx. You know you want to....

I too will be skipping FedEx.
The prize is what drives my tourney crew... so for this "lackluster" prize I will only be sending a handful of dead and a few AD guys for timing.
I'll save all my good stuff to take a shot at a more useful prize.

I'll be mailing my tourney strats today via priority mail. My living roster of 39 includes warriors in every tourney class except for Primus and includes every style except for BA. My 17 dead warriors being sent are represented in all dead tourney classes. Some other details:
Largest classes - Rookies, Apprentices, ADM, Contenders
Smallest classes - Champions & Challengers
Most numerous fighting styles - ST (10), AB (9), LU (
Least numerous fighting styles - PL/PR/PS (1 each) to go with BA (0)
I rarely if ever tailor my tourney crew based on the prize offered, so I'm sending everything I had planned to send prior to the prize announcement. I decided to opt against FedEx.
Let's get it ON!!!!

Added two "last minute" entries. But they are BAs, so they aren't likely to affect the outcome very much...

As of right now, I'm sitting at 30 live, 12 dead entries. A pretty even spread, really.
Live warrior list
1 Primus
5 Contenders
1 Eligible
1 ADM
3 Freshmen
0 Challengers
2 Champions
2 Adepts
5 Initiates
5 Apprentices
5 Rookies
Most: AB with 8, six of which are 21 WT&DF, none in ADM.
Least: PR with 0, 1 BA, 1 PS
... only 2 strikers, even though I have lots of them.

Ok, this just makes me laugh. I know this is because of the choices I make, so I am not complaining. I just think my chances in the tourney might be a bit influced by the fact that:
I have only had one 21 wit/21 deftness warrior in my entire career. (He will be fighting in this tournament - in the dead portion, so please be nice to Abracadaver if you meet him.
I have had only one 21 will/21 deftness rollup.
I have never had a 21 wit/21 will rollup.
Of course, I think I have only seen 30 team sheets in the entire time I have played the game, which affects the odds a bit. I'm not complaining, just adjusting expectations.
As for my tourney, I haven't settled on final numbers yet, but it might reach 20, which would make it my biggest showing ever. (Not counting my one ftf in Minneapolis.) 8 of them are hoping to no longer be dead.

I think I would concur on this opinion based on this statement:
(All modifications will leave the warrior within natural boundaries for their arena.)
Seems to mean no taking you above 21 or under 3. Since ADM warriors need not be ressurected this is obviously a variation of a Rez Potion as ADM warriors are immortal, and therefore cannot be Dead.
It would be interesting if there was another 2 rolls for bonuses and Damage/Endurance etc. and you could choose from the original bonuses and such or one of the other 2. These would be done off the new "Zombie Stats". That way a rezzed +4 DEF/ATT Aimer with a hosing to damage wouldn't neccesarily be ruined (the reason for not suggesting 3 New Rolls to choose from) but maybe you get a superior Damage roll that comes back +2 ATT mode DEF and the choice would be interesting.
After all when one makes a Zombie we all know you don't always get what you were originally planning for at the end of the process. Obviously!

5 more warriors signed up for tournament duty this morning. I'm holding the line at 40, though!

Faxed in an Apprentice this morning.
So my squad is now at:
04 - Dead Apprentice (AB, AB, AB, LU)
01 - Dead Initiate (AB)
01 - Dead Challenger (LU)
01 - Living Apprentice (AB)
10 - Living Challenger (LU, LU, LU, LU, TP, TP, TP, AB, SL, ST)
03 - Freshmen (TP, TP, WS)
Nothing jumps off the paper at me saying TV/TC, so for once I won't be disapointed in my results (I'm not even going to have them overnighted for once).
