I got this fellow on a team sheet, today, and I've been puzzling over what to do with him.
Some initial thoughts:
13-8-6-21-10-5-21 AB
13-9-6-21-15-5-15 LU
17-4-6-21-15-6-15 ST
He could realistically be made into at least another 4 styles. What would you do? I can't decide! |
Prior to reading everyone else, and having loads of free time with no Chatzky ..........
It is hard, these days, to not make it an aimer, and how lovely yours looks!
We can see your striker design, or even a 15 ST/8SP version as a SL.
A LU would be low in our thinking.
Our favorite/s, once we get past passing up the aimer (yay!) are:
17-4-6-21-10-5-21 ST
17-4-6-21-11-10-15 ST
17-4-6-21-11-8-17 ST |

My current plan is to wait and see what styles are missing from my Rookies and roll it up as something that I don't have. My top candidates are:
13-8-6-21-10-5-21 AB
17-4-6-21-15-6-15 ST
17-10-6-21-10-5-15 PR
17-4-6-21-15-6-15 BA
I would've considered SL somewhere in there, but the sheet has a passable SL on it, as well. PS is probably my style of last resort, but I haven't figured out how I'd want to design that guy.
All I have so far is two potential Rookies (a TP and a ST), but I haven't gotten them back yet. It seems I have my work cut out for me to put together a Rookie crew for Tempe. Thanks for the advice, everyone! |

PR is a good idea. If I went that route, I would go 17 ST/15 DF, but definitely worth considering. |
I agree. |

There's no way I could pass up 17-4-6-21-10-5-21 AB...it practically screams to use that design, to me.
Perhaps its basic career might be in question...but I'd definitely still "gamble" on it. |

I love reading all of your ideas. But, I can't stop seeing an aimed blow in this. the PR is nice too. |

And...with a 21 WT...you will always have the chance to do well simply be "outlearning" most other warriors...
I understand why some would want to add to CN...but I just couldn't do it myself.

Love!!!! The striker but would switch one thing.
15-4-6-21-15-6-17ST. Tourney boy will get good damage and has enough to wield a battle axe for heavy armor boys. Also picking it because running ABs dive me nuts and wouldie on me |
Curious why you would go 15 ST and 17 DF when 17 ST and 15 DF are exactly the same thing Att/Dec wise? Both of them are 12 Attack and 9 Decise
With 17 St you have a better chance of getting more endurance and damage than with 15
If anything I might go lower WL higher SP
11 WL, 10 SP gives you 11 Att and 10 Dec
Having run a bunch of ST's (as I am sure OAB has) a 9 Decise base for a tourney ST is ok early, but not good Adept+[/quote
My thinking. you get the attack skill. You NEVER need the extra parry skill. but the init against tourney abs it couldnt hurt.
odds are with either roll your going to get Good damage. not average wit 15 and not great with 17.
also with the higher deftness in old school theory your more likely to hit in the same place twice. tere is benefits as you know to that.
tats my thinking is all. if he would be tall enough to use a halberd i would go the other way. |

In case anyone is curious, I ended up going:
17-10-6-21-10-5-15 PR
Rolled up with at least +2 in Parry, so he looks very solid for tournaments. Thanks for the input, everyone.
Now I just have to find a PS... |

This makes me even happier that I've sworn off tournies because I tend too do best with TPs and STs and this guy can eat bricks and with that PAR bonus and WT, and all the other stats, I just know he would end up ending any TC hopes I might ever have with a good ST (or TP)! |

A ripper? (sigh) Well, we are glad you needed one. Makes tournament life easier for the rest of us. |

I TC'd and got Runner-up in Rookies with these two Rippers 15-17-5-17-9-4-17 and 13-17-7-15-9-6-17. If your guy gets decent match-ups he can certainly TC Rookies. |

I think it would be an uphill battle to get a PR rookies TC these days. Its pretty harsh in the rookies.
13-8-6-21-10-5-21 AB for me. |

Man! You guys get some great roll ups! I just looked at roll up and I would love to have one of these guys.
Sorry about posting on the same topic twice. I tried to delete it but there isn't an option for it. |

We agree, LHI, especially with all those aimers.
So, thanks, again, OAB. |
